How to make a delicious banana cake easily? @oneray explains it to you!

I started making banana cakes several months ago, but I didn't like how it looked at the end. I thought it lacked some more flavor or another additional ingredient. And in that search for the flavor I wanted, I was adding, decreasing quantities and increasing others until I got what I was looking for.

To make this cake you need the following ingredients:

  • 3 cups leavening wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 large bananas
  • 1 spoon of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup of oil, butter or margarine
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup of rum
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Raisins, nuts, and almonds to taste.

And with all these ingredients ready, we are going to prepare our cake

We will place in a bowl, oil, and sugar, to mix it very well

Add eggs

Add the bananas already stomped with a fork

In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon. If you want, you can sift it in a sieve. This time I did not sift it and there were no lumps.

Add the rum and vanilla and mix well and place half of the mixture in a refractory
previously greased with margarine or oil spray

Tips: For a better flavor, I soak the raisins in rum for at least two days and so they hydrate and the rum acquires the flavor of raisins.

Add the raisins, nuts, and almonds well distributed over the mixture and pour the rest of the mixture on top.

We bake at 180 degrees for approximately 40 minutes. It will depend on the oven they have. To know if it is ready, we introduce a stick or a knife in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it is ready.

Let cool and test how it fits.

For a snack or at any time of the day, with milk, coffee with milk or soda, it will satisfy you completely. You did an amazing job explaining each step and the pictures. Banana bread looks good.
Only one suggestion meant in concern: I would never put 2 cups of sugar in anything. I make plain banana bread quite a bit and only use about 1/2 c of sugar. The bananas are sweet. Sugar is not good for your health as too much can cause a variety of diseases.

To reduce the amount of sugar should I use more bananas for the preparation?

You wouldn’t need any more bananas. You may be used to using a lot of sugar but once you cut down you will find you don’t miss it.

Every new recipe I use, I cut the sugar amount at least in half and it is still sweet enough. It wouldn’t hurt to try it and see.
