introduction
Hello friends this is an interesting topic for this engagement challenge, death penalty are religious minorities, the governments use death penalty to silence their opponents, just for instance in my state Akwa ibom state, one of senator was sentence to 45 years imprisonment all because the government was afraid of his political power since he was contesting for governorship race but though he was later released through Court. So I take death penalty
as executing an innocent person.
What do you think about the death penalty, do you agree or disagree? Explain why?
Death penalty is the terminal ghastly, humiliating and inhuman punishment. The death penalty is unjust.
Death penalties are firm of punishment in which a person is killed by the state for a particular crime. Death is one of the cruellest form of criminal penalties that are carried out in the form of hanging, lethal injections and electrocution.
Though the primary point of death penalty is to reduce the number of dreadful crimes in the world. It is a legal punishment ordered by the court against the contravention of criminal laws. All countries has their own method of death penalty.
I disagree because murder is murder, the death penalty is part of murder by the state. I don't take it to be a punishment, so I take it as a revenge. Before someone kill a person there are some reason which might be self defence, it can be the the person has a mental issues
So I really disagree with death penalty.
Is this type of penalty part of the law in your country? Do you think it should be implemented?
Though the death penalty is legal in Nigeria, executions are a uncommonness in the country, because if the head of state does not sign for it the execution can not be carry out even when it has be pronounce in the court. Like there are offences that is necessary that death penalty should be pronounce just like kidnapping case, armed robbery, I can remember last year September I was attack by arm robbers it was too scaring.
Opposing the death penalty in my country Nigeria means preserving our humanity and dignity. So I will like to state why it should not be implemented in Nigeria.
Death penalty opposing to human rights
The right to life is a basic right preserve in several international human rights Politics.Death penalty is not a barrier It is worthless in fighting crime and death penalty does not make society safer.
death penalty is a revenge and not justice
death penalty can kill innocent people.
death penalty is unfair
death penelty is traumatic, it creates new victims because it will bring suffering and trauma the victim family.
Do you know of any particular case of death penalty in your country or any other country? Can you share it?
Yes I Know on one case , early this year let's say January 16, 2023 in OSUN state high court in OSOGBO six men were sentence to death by hanging and in two different cases the Court convicted them of armed robbery and murder offences, though I will not like to mention their names here.
conclusion
You know once death penalty is pronounced it is finished for an example if the police release an innocent person from prison for the crime they know nothing off but once a pronouncement of death penalty is been carrying out it can never be reversed.

Hola @mesola, tus puntos de vista coinciden mucho con los míos, la pena de muerte es la venganza mas no la corrección de un delito, en una de las publicación que leí hoy decía que solo en Estados unidos hay un 4% de ejecuciones al año de gente inocente, lamentable no?
