Steemit Engagement Challenge Season8 Week1: What is the value of life?"
Greetings to everyone in Colombia-Original Community I hope you are all doing well. I am @fonjougiressse from Cameroon, the Cradle of Humanity. I am delighted and amazed to take part in this engagement challenge, season 8, week 1, which has as its main topic The Value of Life.

When we talk about the value of life for an individual, it is a very delicate and sensitive matter because, in the eyes of God, every living creature has the same value. The same thing applies to human beings.

But unfortunately, from a hum an’s point of view, not everyone’s life has the same value. The people who rule over people always look at their subjects as trash, not only nowadays. When we look right behind us, the occidental countries came and took humans in Africa to turn them into slaves. Just to explain that the value of life is not the same.
This will better help us explain the fact that those who write the law will find it normal to sentence someone to death. The question is: are they gods to decide so? No, they are not.

For me, deep in my heart, I don’t totally agree with the death penalty. But the real issue here is that in order to protect the citizens from jealousy (jealousy can cause someone to kill), from psychopaths, they need these laws to sentence someone to death who is a serial killer or someone who just likes to kill for no reason.

In some cases, it may assure the victim’s family that the person who took their loved one will deserve the same treatment; sometimes, the grief they experience may fade away with time knowing that justice will be applied.

According to our constitution, the death penalty is part of the law, but based on the news, our government has not sentenced someone to death in a long time. I have a friend who is a soldier and has participated in cases of murder, yet our government has not sentenced the person to death.
Gradually, our government is trying to remove the death penalty from our law, but it is not confirmed to be the case. I ask myself if the government should remove this penalty. Will the crime rate increase or stay as low as it is?

From my point of view, we should not put someone to death, whether legally or illegally, for nature always makes us pay our crimes in one way or another, so we should not decide on people's lives.

No sabía que en Camerún la pena de muerte formaba parte de la ley, interesante.
Eso es un gran detalle, saber si la eliminan de la legislación y aumentan algunos crímenes de lesa humanidad, ¿tendrían que volver a legalizarla?

That question is very interesting because we don't know if they will legalise it again if the crime rate increases. Perhaps we will just wait and see.
