The Interview Showcase #54 - Exclusive Talk With Steem Representative / Italian blogger

in Hot News Communitylast year

Hello,

It's The Interview Showcase!!!. with your host ubongudofot. This is the 54th Edition of “The Interview Showcase...." and my 24th show for 2023. Stay calm and follow along as I unveil this interesting edition of the Interview showcase.

In case you are new to this page, this lifestyle program has many educational values. A weekly interview of top users/users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steem and Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with top Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users to understand the blockchain and correctly make use of it. Sometimes they seek valuable suggestions here to help them solve some of their challenges.

This Week's Interview was with one of the Steem Representatives, a big-time blogger from Italy. She is a member of the Italy game Witness. She is an old-time Steemian. And just before I continue, have you seen @mikitaly before? I bet 85% of you all haven't seen her before, you didn't even know that the user behind that account is a female, not just a female but a mother of two grown-ups whom she adores so much. Guess what?

You will see her today for the first time...!😁

Let's welcome @mikitaly my guest to the Interview showcase.

Ubongudofot
: Hello @mikitaly, It’s nice to have you on my show for this week…, could you briefly describe yourself in one sentence for those who missed your introduction?

🔶Mikitaly: It's a pleasure to be here speaking with you. Thank you so much for inviting me. I'm passionate about the crypto and blockchain world, a nature and animal enthusiast, an avid supporter of strategies to save our planet, and I always believe that positive thoughts, kindness, and a lot of smiles can work miracles.

Ubongudofot
: I noticed you joined steemit in 2017, how did you hear about Steemit and why did you join?

🔶Mikitaly: I honestly don't remember anymore, but it was the period when I got into cryptocurrencies and I was looking for information everywhere, especially in forums like Bitcointalk and Reddit, Italian forums like CryptoItalia Forum, and Criptovalute.

Forums were also coming up. I joined Steemit, I guess a bit like everyone else, in the beginning, attracted by the idea of receiving rewards for my posts. Then I realised its real value. At that time it was really something new, there were no other similar platforms.

Ubongudofot
: What will you say your publications on steemit are all about?

🔶Mikitaly: For the most part, I like to write about everything related to the crypto world. I think you always have to be informed to avoid falling into the trap of FUD and that is why I share my views. Then I also talk about other things. I like to find the latest blockchain-based projects that aim to make our planet greener and less polluted, since Covid, I also pay more attention to health issues and when I find useful news I like to share it. Then of course as moderator of the Italian community, I publish posts that I consider useful for the whole group.

Ubongudofot
: Do you think Community Projects are working well since it was introduced to the platform?

🔶Mikitaly: Yes, absolutely. In my opinion, they are a point of reference for all Steemit users. They give users the opportunity to be more involved in the platform's activities and to interact with each other by forging useful relationships to build their own path on the platform through mutual support that can last over time. In addition, you always learn new things and better understand the dynamics of Steemit. I believe that alone, on such a large blogging platform, one goes nowhere, but not everyone realises this.

Ubongudofot
: What are your favourite activities when you are alone?

🔶Mikitaly: I relax by reading a book or listening to podcasts not only on crypto, but especially on meditation, and mental and spiritual well-being.

Ubongudofot
: Recently, you were appointed as one of the Steem Representatives, how will you describe the experience so far?

🔶Mikitaly: I was encouraged by my group of @italygame, which you know and have already interviewed @girolamomarotta and @frafiomatale. And in the end, I tried to participate even though I knew I only had experience related to running the Italian community and not outside it. Amazingly I am one of the Representatives for 2023 and I am really honoured. It is a really great experience, I am learning new things, I am interacting with other Reps who have more experience than me and this is a lot of help. I will definitely continue to do my best to be useful to the whole great Steemit community..

Ubongudofot
: During your role as Steem Representative, what is the challenge you have identified in general and how would you like it to be addressed by the steemit team or communities in general?

🔶Mikitaly: Create more interaction between users! Wandering around Steemit looking for users who deserve curation, I see how undervalued it is. This also happens in the Italian community where we still encourage users to interact with each other. Especially new users, but not only, think mainly about posting their own content, disinterested in the posts of others. Instead, it is important to read and comment on other posts, to support the work of others and not just expect to receive it.

Actually, something is already being done to solve this problem: the curator teams are rewarding the most deserving comments with their own upvote. We at @italygame have also been doing this for a while in our community.

I usually delegate 10% of each of my posts to @penny4thoughts, so that the most deserving users who leave comments on my posts can receive an additional reward.

I really think we should give more value to comments because they have a fundamental function: they make the platform alive and active...What value would a post have without any comments?

Ubongudofot
: If you could travel anywhere in the world that you've not yet been, where would that be?

🔶Mikitaly: I would love to see the Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, in Rwanda. Many travel agencies organize 3-day trekking safaris in the forest to see these magnificent animals, which are now on the brink of extinction. It would be a dream come true..

Ubongudofot
: What is your biggest pet peeve?

🔶Mikitaly: What I really cannot stand is indifference. More and more often we turn away so as not to see those who need our help. I think our societies are taking a turn for the worse and that saddens me.

Ubongudofot
: What is your favorite song? Have you listened to any African Music before?

🔶Mikitaly: Do I know African songs?😁 Let me tell you something, my friend...My friend, I lived in Kenya and I only heard African hits, from 2011 to 2015. However, there was one song that never went out of style and could be heard everywhere and at any time, "Vuli Ndlela" by Branda Fassie.

Brenda Fassie - Vulindlela

Whenever this song was played, whether the original or the remix, group dancing started automatically and I had to learn the dance moves at the end. As for my favourite group, it's Skunk Anansie. I adore the singer and her voice. I can't say I have a favourite song, but I really love "Squander."

Ubongudofot
: Great Arican songs, Brenda was popular before she passed away.

Ubongudofot
: Would you mind telling us about your real-life profession and how this can impact society at large?

🔶Mikitaly: Currently, I have a very boring office job in a multi-service company, but not full-time because the other part of my time is spent being a mum of two beautiful but also challenging teenage girls. I believe that in the near future, jobs like mine will be done remotely for the sake of cost savings for companies, which, however, brings improvements to workers' lives.

Ubongudofot
: Whose Steemit blog are you most entertained by?

🔶Mikitaly: I read many posts, especially in the Italian community and there are many interesting ones. However, I must say that I always enjoy reading the posts by @aston.villa. He is straightforward when expressing his thoughts, without beating around the bush. Moreover, I really love it when he talks about his beloved Cuba

Ubongudofot
: If you have the opportunity and power to change something on the Steemit platform, what would that be? And why?

🔶Mikitaly: I would like to improve the graphical interface of Steemit and add some functions to make it more user-friendly. And surely the next step is the mobile app to keep up with the times and also with other social networks. It would certainly attract many more new users, especially young people who now do everything with just their mobile phones.

Ubongudofot
: Which User/Users will you like me to feature on my show and why?

🔶Mikitaly: Reading this question immediately brought to mind a Steemit veteran, @sardrt, she really knows all the old users of the platform and all the events that have taken place over the years. She has been on Steemit since December 2016. She was the one who created “Italy”, the new Italian community even before we created the @italygame team. Absolutely she is my choice.

Ubongudofot
: What do you think can be done to attract more Investors to the Steeemit platform?

🔶Mikitaly: This is the million-dollar question, or rather, the million-teem question. Steemit is a blogging platform where people love to dedicate themselves to writing and building their reputation and role within it. Through their activities, they keep all the gears of the system running.

However, this is only one aspect because Steemit is also a platform on which you can invest and make your money work. It is possible to receive passive income simply by delegating Steem Power. Perhaps we should convey this message better to those who are looking for a project to invest in. A bit of healthy marketing to attract investment on the platform.

Moreover, as far as I know, there are no new projects exploiting Steem's blockchain, and no new dApps exploring its functionality and potential. Everything revolves exclusively around Steemit. And I don't think this is enough to generate interest. Of course, I am not an expert; this is just my opinion.

Ubongudofot
: What is the most difficult thing you've ever attempted to learn?

🔶Mikitaly: If you're referring to Steemit, then calculating the debt ratio between Steem and SBD drives me crazy, too much math... just kidding!😁 The hardest thing maybe I still have to learn: recognize and appreciate the little moments of happiness. Sometimes they escape me.

Ubongudofot
: What's the worst thing you've observed about Steemit?

🔶Mikitaly: The worst thing is the sly ones, those who have multiple accounts but don't disclose them, so they can gather more votes. If they hold an important role on the platform, they can direct votes toward their secret accounts. How can we combat this phenomenon? Unfortunately, there's no foolproof way.

Dishonest people will always find a way to deceive others. We need to remain vigilant and if a user doesn't convince us, we can ask them for more information about themselves. If they don't mind answering, it means we were mistaken; otherwise, we've found a sly one.

Ubongudofot
: What are you hopeful about for the #steem blockchain?

🔶Mikitaly: I would like to see the Steemit blockchain hosting again numerous new projects and exciting dApps as it did a few years ago

Ubongudofot
: Do you have any messages for the steemit team?

🔶Mikitaly: The team is doing great things, and from 2019 to now, the platform has undergone a complete and positive transformation. We hope for continuous improvements that will make Steemit stronger and more competitive among other rival platforms.

What can you say about the Interview Showcase, do you think it is interesting and should be continued?
Of course, it should continue, it's a beautiful and original format, and it gives the interviewees a chance to express their ideas, and get to know better by the users and not just the usual followers.

Your interviews always make us discover new things, for example, I didn't know that @josevas217 and @franyeligonzalez are a beautiful couple in real life and I found out thanks to your show. So please don't stop with your interviews, they are great.

I hope you enjoy the Show...? Do you think I am missing something? Please feel free to tell me, let's make this better daily. Share your suggestions with me, I'll so much appreciate it.

Do you have a particular topic you would like me to feature? Is there a user you would like me to feature? Please contact me (language) is not a barrier and all will be handled successfully.

Hello friend @ubongudofot
How nice that you constantly bring us to the scene such different users, you allow us to know the great diversity of users we have on the platform, and even know a little of his personal life.
I didn't know that friend @mikitaly had two daughters and, as she says, a boring office job. It can happen, but luckily we have Steemit and it gives us the possibility to share content, our experiences as well as learn from others.
Interesting interview, and thanks for the mention.
