Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is located at the west end which is famous for its strong province with an Islamic culture that is embraced by the community because of the history it has in fighting for Islam and being one of the kingdoms in the past in fighting for independence for Indonesia, many heroes Aceh which was famous in the past and was very much feared by the invaders.

In addition to being one of the strongest regions in the world against the invaders, Aceh was also the first region born in Southeast Asia to come to Islam and spread throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Before being formed into one name for the province of Aceh, Aceh was one of the strongest kingdoms in Southeast Asia with strong Islamic law and adhered to Islamic law. At that time, Aceh was very compact and united.

In addition to having many islands and tribes formed in this country, Indonesia also has various kinds of customs and cultures in their respective regions in each province and one of them is customs and clothing in the aceh area as you can see below which is one one photo of my memories at my wedding reception two years ago in traditional aceh clothes.

Among the people of Aceh in general, this traditional Acehnese clothing is widely used for traditional wedding ceremonies, this is done to elevate the degree of the bride and groom as queen and king on one day, because as this was done by the king of Aceh in the past who wear the clothes to signify as the king of the kingdom of aceh.

The traditional aceh clothes are worn at each party event to strengthen the culture of aceh in the past so that it will not be lost in time and remind us of aceh culture to its children and grandchildren and besides that, at the traditional party, various other customs are also carried out such as seumapa, ranub lam puan and also various other customs.

In Indonesia, the traditional aceh clothes are known as the ulee balang clothes because in the ancient aceh kingdom these traditional clothes were only worn by the king at every event in the aceh kingdom or the aceh people mentioned a king with 'ulee balang' or the head of the kingdom and that's why the traditional clothes were given the name ulee balang clothes by the people of Aceh.

For us aceh residents, many aceh people in general, to have a pair of these traditional clothes only by renting aisle equipment along with a pair of traditional clothes for the groom and bride and the price depends on the quality requested by the bride's family and after the event is over then The clothes will be returned.

In addition to being used for weddings among the people of Aceh, traditional Acehnese clothing is also widely used at carnival events to introduce regional clothing to the wider community in Indonesia and the world and besides that it is also used when there are visits from other countries that come to Indonesia. aceh for an event by showing the aceh traditional clothes in the eyes of the world.

Are there any similarities between your local clothing and the rest of the world?

In my view, there is nothing similar to traditional Acehnese clothing with other regions, especially in Indonesia and throughout the world because the Acehnese traditional clothes are carefully designed and in accordance with the intent and meaning according to Acehnese customs.
