Steemit Engagement Challenge S3-W2| All About My Local Music : Ranup Lampuan Dance to Welcome Guests
In this post I will explain about local music, namely Ranup Lampuan from the Aceh-Indonesia area. Aceh is located in the western part of Indonesia. The presentation of local music Steemit Engagement Challenge Season3 Week #2 | All About My Local Music. Below I will explain one by one the points in the Challenge.
Ranup Lampuan dance music is a traditional Acehnese dance that describes how the Acehnese people are accustomed to paying respects to guests. The Ranup Lampuan dance was created by Yuslizar in 1959 under the Pocut Baren dance studio which he fostered.
Ranup Lampuan dance is played between 3 minutes to 9 minutes. The Ranup Lampuan dance depicts the habits of the Acehnese people in respecting guests. The habits of the Acehnese people in welcoming guests at sugguhi betel.
Every movement performed in the Ranup Lampun dance has its own meaning. From giving respect to invited guests, picking betel to giving betel to guests. The Ranup Lampuan dance is played by at least 5 dancers and combined with traditional Acehnese music such as seurune kale and geundrang.
At this time the Ranup Lampuan dance is always the opening music at every event held in Aceh. Whether it's an event held by the local government or at a wedding celebration.
The beauty or privilege contained in the Ranup Lampuan dance, including this dance, holds strong customs by the people of Aceh. By paying respects to invited guests, both invited guests from abroad and invited guests from lower classes.
From the movements of the Ranup Lampuan dance, it can be seen that there is sincerity in welcoming and honoring guests regardless of caste. And the dance is different from other dances in Indonesia. Another beauty that I found from the Ranup Lampuan dance is that there is uniformity and cohesiveness that is maintained between one dancer and another.
Until now I have not seen and have not received data for the similarity of Ranup Lampuan dance with music in other countries. Because the Ranup Lampuan dance is much different from that in other countries. Not only with other countries, for local music in Indonesia, nothing is the same.
Maybe the Ranup Lampuan dance is the only dance that can be adopted by other local music in honoring the invited guests. Every prop and movement contained in the Ranup Lampuan dance holds a deep meaning and it is a culture and customs carried out by the Acehnese people to this day.
Until now, the people of Aceh still cultivate the traditional music of Ranup Lampuan in commemorating events at the regional, national and international levels. And I hope that the traditional music of Ranup Lampuan will be maintained until the end of time.
Here I invite several other steemians to join this contest, because the theme raised is very interesting related to local music in our own country.
