Street photography | Exploring Liège (Belgium)

Street photography is incredibly suitable for getting people unposed and raw in photos.

Unfortunately, privacy laws in the Netherlands make it very difficult to do this. For every photo I take of someone (recognisably), I have to ask permission.

Hence I try to avoid this as much as possible.

The man I shot in the next photo stares into the water.
He’s unrecognisable but his backside also tells a nice story for me.

Of course, I would have preferred to have his face in the photo as well.
His eyes, the glance in his eyes, the wrinkles in his face and the emotion he exudes.
All elements that can make a photo successful.

But for now I am very satisfied.
His pose and surroundings, combined with a black-and-white photo make it a successful photo for me.

And when people aren’t an option, the graffiti and art of a city is also very alluring to photograph.
As unique and beautiful as possible.

All three photos were taken in Liege, a city in Belgium.

In Liège, you can even follow a walk through the city that allows you to admire some 30 street artworks. Very worthwhile.
