Now I will take you to another area of Kristiansand, where it is also decorated for Christmas. This place is Fiskebrygga ( Fish market ) which was introduced to Kristiansand in 1936. The location is in the city, next to the harbour. Inside there is plenty to choose from when it comes to fresh fish and seafood. Lobsters and all kinds of fish swim around in the basins. You just point to the one you want. It couldn't be fresher.

Other buildings that have been placed here in the years to come, are 5 restaurants. They are placed in a row by the water's edge, giving the environment a maritime feel. The restaurants are built around a small strait with a footbridge that leads over to Odderøya. An island connected to the city by a couple of bridges.

During the summer month Fiskebrygga is full of life. All the restaurants have outdoor seating and a popular place for both locals and tourists. On a hot summer day it's hard to get a seat. Outdoor concerts are also held every Tuesday during the summer month. Then the restaurants won't have any empty seats and the harbor is filled with boats. If it's sunny, people sit on the boats with food and drink and enjoy the music. In winter it looks completely different. There is little outdoor seating and few people in general. During the month of December, there is a good Christmas atmosphere. All they lightings creates a wonderful atmosphere. This is also a pleasant time of year to come here.
