My Weekly Powerup | #club100 | Black & white photography – The view of Pico island from Horta | #steemexclusive / 4 photos

These photos were taken from the marina in Horta, the main city on the island of Faial in the Azores. The island of Pico is seen in the distance. These two islands are close and only half short boattrip to go between them.

On my walk along the marina, I keep looking over towards Pico to see if I could see Montanha do Pico. In the picture above, you can see the contours of it and also the top sticking up above the clouds.

Montanha do Pico is Portugal's highest mountain (2351) and still an active volcano. We spent one day and nine hours hiking to the top and back down, including stops and a lunch break. When we went to Horta the day after we actually kept looking at the mountain. We could hardly believe we had been to the top.
