My Weekly Powerup | #club100 | Pamplemousses Botanical Garden on the island of Mauritius | #steemexclusive / 9 photos

This botanical garden located near the town of the same name is a wonderful park featuring more than 650 different plants and trees. At the entracne there are guides for hire. The photos is from my latest visit in november 2021 and the first time we actually took a guided tour. I have been to the garden many times, but had visitors from Denmark who were in Mauritius for the first time. It was their idea to do a guided tour. It turned out to be a great idea. I have learned much more than in my previous visits.

After the guided tour we went back to the giant water lillies and the lotus pond. Then we took our time to take some close up photos before leaving the park.

This botanical garden opened for the first time 300 years ago, but as a private park. It was also much smaller at that time. But it developed during the next decades and today it is one of the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemispherre. It's a beautiful park and a great place to spend some hours if a break from the beach is needed.
