For now, the person who is planting vegetables in this particular bridge had planted lemongrass beside the the concrete railings of this bridge.

Below is a small river where we can see some palm trees we call "Sasa" which most of them are used to get some palm tree wine and vinegar.

Here we could see some remnants of the vegetable vines that the person doing it had planted before, it is actually the vine of the bitter gourd which didn't thrive because it is just planted for decoration plus the fact that it is just planted there and left there to suffer from the heat of the sun without much care.

When we go for my regular hospital visit to clean-out my blood, we would always pass this bridge and sometimes we would see that it has been planted with some vegetables. Usually it is a bitter gourd vine, eggplant, and these, lemongrass! I know that some people are fascinated to look at these crops which is most probably planted by a resident with a permission to do it, but these crops are subjected to air pollution because the bridge collects smoke residue from passing vehicles considering that there is always a heavy traffic situation on the length of the road where this bridge is located.

I sometimes feel sad too about the condition of the vegetables because they are just planted for decoration and not really taken cared of because the vegetables would always look like they are deprived from water because the container where the are planted into is just shallow and doesn't hold much water. The said vegetables or sometimes sunflowers would live a little while and soon will die because as had said, they just lack nutrition and a bit of tender loving care (TLC). Now, because of the said crops are exposed to pollution, they cannot be used for anything other than to beautify the bridge as the concept of the individual who had been doing it for quite a while now because we had been passing this bridge for more than a decade and a half already and it was not like that from all those years until somebody recently had the idea of planting crops along the sides of this busy bridge near or town.

My hope is that they or the person who is doing this would address the issue of "plant and forget" which is making the said vegetables look like they are weeds grown on street side beneath or between the cracks and crevices of the pavement because sometimes they would break the heart of other gardeners or people with utmost frustration because most of the time they look like being neglected because most are dying, wilting, and dead during the course of their lifetime. The ones that planted them also fails to clear-out the vines from the last planting "season" as you can see on the bottom photo and are left hanging there and thereby making an eyesore out of itself rather than the idea of being an "eye candy".

Tiene razón amigo @criptopie, si las cosas se hacen bien o se siembra como deben ser no afean el espacio ni las calles, hay que tomar conciencia.

"Love this post! 🌱👍 Your photos of lemongrass and Nipa palm tree are stunning! I'm fascinated by the idea of growing vegetables on a bridge, it's so creative. I can relate to feeling sad about the condition of the plants due to lack of care and air pollution. 😔 Would love to hear more about your experiences with this spot and how you think we can make it better for the plants. It is sad to see these plants struggling when they could be so much healthier with just a little more care. The idea of planting vegetables and flowers on the bridge is nice but they are not being looked after properly. Maybe with a bit more attention, this could be a lovely green spot for everyone to enjoy, rather than something that makes people feel disappointed.
