Architectural Photography - Week 68 - Status.
At all times wealthy people wanted to show the whole world their status.
That is why we see pyramids and luxurious palaces we see people covered with gold and medals in luxurious clothes.
The subject of status can be extensive stables and packs of hunting dogs, and today these are expensive watches smartphones and cars.
Probably that is why we see bas-reliefs in the form of faces of strangers on the decorative finish of old houses, but for the owner of the house they were significant.
Although comparatively recently in the gypsy city of Soroca in the north of Moldova a house appeared from the wall of which the face of the owner of the house looks out onto the serpentine road lol.
I photographed this bas-relief in another city but probably this face was very dear to the owner of the house and he decided to make it part of the overall architecture of the house.
