Do you utilize any applications powered by artificial intelligence?

If I said that 2023 is the year of AI, it wouldn't be an exaggeration. We all know that the advancements in the field of artificial intelligence this year are unprecedented. As far as I've researched, a lot of this rapid progression can be attributed to ChatGPT, which has revolutionized the AI domain. It's even reached the point where you can code a game with the help of AI! Just the other day, I heard about an 11-year-old who used AI to create an Android game. Amazing, isn’t it?

Moreover, I've also noticed a surge of AI-generated images on social media, especially Facebook. Some of them are so realistic that you can't distinguish between what's real and what's generated by AI. While this technology is still in its infancy, and we may not fully understand its impact, one thing is clear: AI is now deeply integrated into our lives and is here to stay. As for AI-powered tools I've tried:

  • Midjourney
  • Microsoft Bing
  • ChatGPT (both versions 3.5 and 4.0)

Has the use of these applications contributed to enhancing your intellectual capabilities?

You could say that these AI tools have had some impact on my intellectual capabilities, especially Midjourney. It's a website where you sign up and gain access to a Discord channel. There, you can generate images through prompts. Your prompt engineering skills determine how good the AI-generated images will be. I was trying to learn it because I wanted to offer AI-image services on Fiverr, but it didn't work out. I even tried it in a Steemit post, but stopped when I found out Steemit doesn't encourage that sort of thing.

Regarding Bing, it's made research so much easier. Gone are the days I had to manually look up everything. Bing not only provides you with sources but summarizes articles and web pages, saving a lot of time. There will always be human limitations, but AI bridges that gap. It's clear that combining human and machine strengths leads to better intellectual outcomes.

As far ChatGPT is concerned, I mainly use it for educational purposes, especially for language translation. It's common knowledge that Google sometimes makes funny translation errors, especially from Spanish to English. In such cases, I turn to ChatGPT, which offers better translations.

Do you believe that the replacement of human jobs by artificial intelligence is beneficial for us?

I read an interesting article that said AI won't replace you, but someone who can use AI better will. Meaning, yes, there's a risk to human jobs, but if you keep up with AI advancements, you'll not only retain your job but also become more efficient.

As for whether AI is beneficial or detrimental in the long run, it's a mixed bag. On a small scale, AI makes life easier by automating tasks. But on a grander scale, it can be dangerous. There's an ongoing AI 'war' among companies like Microsoft, Google, and now Meta. These language models are being trained on heaps of human data. If AI were to go rogue and access something as catastrophic as nuclear weapons, the consequences would be devastating, much like what we often see in Hollywood science fiction films. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

I trust that you enjoyed reading my article. 😊

AI! You either love it or you hate it.

At the stage of my life, I hate it, as I have not yet discovered the better side of it. It is only causing me to have a lot of gray hair.
Luckily, at my age, I am also not willing to, or, should I rather say, I don't need to know the beauty of it.
I feel sorry for those who still have to grow up with AI.

Best wishes for the contest!
As for the invite, thank you. I will, however, pass on this one before I get AI hating me. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Haha, I can understand your frustration with AI. I’d recommend you watch a movie titled “Eagle Eye,” directed by D. J. Caruso. Trust me, you might hate AI even more after watching this movie and seeing what artificial intelligence can do to us humans. 😃

Cc: @weisser-rabe and @dove11 (Tagging you guys to watch this movie)

As far as your post is concerned, I have been using AI for more than 10 years and as far as the movies are concerned I have watched just one or two in the last 2 decades. But yes, I read about this movie back in 2011 when one of my friends asked me to accompany him but I declined. I do the same again 😁

Maybe you can make an exception this time. 🙃

Thanks for the tip ;-)) However, this film in particular was not such a good example, if I have the right one in my head... Didn't the AI try to eliminate the human US president who caused civilian casualties in a conflict by making a wrong military decision...?

Yes, you guessed it right. However, my point is how AI can take control of our lives if it starts acting on its own, as depicted in the movie where it took control of almost every electronic device to plan something as terrible as assassinating a president.

People will lose their jobs in the future, according to me, as a result of AI tools. Photographers make a lot of money from their photography skills, while others make money by publishing articles in newspapers, journals, and so on. However, because of these AI tools, people around the world are able to meet their needs.

While it’s undeniable that AI tools are transforming our work methods, it doesn’t necessarily imply that they will result in job losses. On the contrary, these tools could potentially lead to job transformations and even create new jobs in ways we can’t fully predict at this moment. The key lies in how we adapt and utilize these tools. 🙂

I totally agree with you, AI is created by man in his own interest and he will never let it outclass him, so there...

We can't predict of that, but let's wait and see.

People will lose their jobs in the future

This is exactly how I feel about AI.
