It’s native to the tropics & subtropics of the Americas which could be native to the West Indies, but its exact origin is unknown due to widespread cultivation. Common names for this species include poinciana, peacock flower, red bird of paradise, dwarf poinciana, Mexican bird of paradise, pride of Barbados, flos pavonis, & flamboyant-de-jardin. It has medicinal properties like Anti-diabetic activity, Anti-bacterial activity, Anti-diarrheal property, Hepatoprotective/Cytotoxic property, Anti-microbial activity, Anti- Inflammatory activity.
