Where am eye? Lightpainting with a camera rotation device

This is not your normal kind of lightpainting shot but was made using similar techniques:

Greeneyedmonsterrfs.jpg

For this shot I used two lenses and two tripods. First I shot the image of an eye on an iPad and replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I then swapped lenses in complete darkness and moved the camera to another tripod which was pointed at a fallen tree branch. I removed the lens cap and fired a flashgun at one side of the tree branch and replaced the lens cap again. I then rotated the camera through 45 degrees and repeated the process of firing a flashgun and rotating for the full 360 degrees. Job done.

This image was created in one photographic exposure and isn't a Photoshop creation.

This is also my first image posted from the steempeak.com site which seems more user friendly so far!

About me: I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.

Such a banger!amazing Theme. Avatarlike.

Excellent outcome. How many shots like this have you done that didn't produce a great result? The experimental process is intriguing. Resteemed

Congratulations @fastchrisuk

Thanks @momzillanc :-) I've been doing this stuff for a few years now. I tend to rehearse each element first and then set about combining the different parts in one exposure when I'm happy with what I'm trying to achieve will work. Knowing what will work comes with experience and I've found that experience only happens with experimentation :-)

Wow 😲 beautiful 👌

Thanks mate, I need to get rotating stuff again!
