Hi all stemian friends, on this occasion I want to participate in the Venezolanos steem community. This is my first post in this community, I will take part in an interesting engagement challenge about cultural traditions in our country. Before that I want to invite my friends @chefdanie @sahmie and @daprado1999.

My country Indonesia is a multicultural and multiethnic country. There are many different cultures and traditions in our country, especially in Aceh. Each region or ethnic group has its own traditions and culture which have been passed down from generation to generation by their ancestors.

Like the area where I currently live, Aceh has a lot of traditions and culture and to this day we still maintain and care for these traditions.

Peusijuek

Peusijuek is a traditional custom of the Acehnese people which is still practiced today, this is a traditional procession in which a person recites prayers for safety, prayers asking for an abundance of good fortune, health and happiness, prayers asking for approval or blessing and forgiving each other.

This peusijuk is carried out in almost all traditional activities in Acehnese society such as, peusijuek on peucicap and peutron aneuk, peusijuek linto and dara baro, when starting a new job or business, celebrating graduation from education, when have a new house and want to live in it, and much more.

Not only in terms of traditional ceremonies, but this traditional procession is also carried out for small things such as peusijuk for a new vehicle, peusijuk when building the foundation of the first building, and when you want to sow rice seeds in the rice fields so that they grow well.

This peusijuek ritual is carried out by religious or traditional leaders, they better understand and master prayer or religious law to recite prayers for safety and welfare. The procedure for carrying out peusijuek is firstly sprinkling breuh pade or paddy rice, sprinkling water and editing the sticky rice. This is a unique tradition in Acehnese society which is still maintained and well cared for today.

Jak ba tanda

This unique tradition jak ba Tanda is known as proposing to someone or the people of Aceh call it ba ranup. The group of male candidates will bring several gifts to the female candidates, they will deliver several Acehnese cash foods such as bulukat kuneng and tumpo, various typical Acehnese cakes such as, keukarah, bhoi, meusekat, bajek, and haluan, fruit such as grapes, watermelon and also jewelry.

If the application from the prospective groom is accepted, then they will discuss the process of when the wedding will take place, such as setting the wedding date, how many invited guests will be invited and the amount of the dowry.

During this application process, the woman will usually provide several typical Acehnese foods and desserts for the guests to enjoy. This traditional tradition is not only to unite the bride and groom but can be an opportunity to connect ties between two families and also increase the feeling of kinship and kinship between people.

Of the two cultural traditions above that I mentioned, these are traditions that are mostly found in my country in Aceh and there are many hundreds or even thousands of traditions in our country that I cannot explain at the same time.

I myself really like this tradition and really support the preservation of our cultural traditions as a legacy from our ancestors that must be well maintained. This cultural tradition really supports the values in society and makes them a cultured society.

Hello friend, The unique tradition of Jak Ba Tanda, also known as proposing or "ba ranup" in Acehnese culture, is truly fascinating. In this tradition, a group of male candidates brings various gifts to the female candidates to express their intentions. These gifts often include Acehnese cash foods like bulukat kuneng and tumpo, as well as an array of typical Acehnese cakes such as keukarah, bhoi, meusekat, bajek, and haluan. Additionally, fruits like grapes and watermelon, along with jewelry, are also commonly presented.

This tradition not only showcases the rich culinary heritage of Aceh but also reflects the importance of gestures and traditions in expressing affection and commitment. It's a beautiful blend of cultural practices and romantic gestures that adds depth and meaning to the courtship process in Acehnese society.

Such a great post. Keep it up 👍👍
