Voting on Steem refers to the act of voting or "upvoting" content uploaded by other users. Every Steem account owner has the right To vote on the content they like. In this process, they may choose To upvote ,called an "upvote", In support of the content. Upvote can reward content authors based on the number of votes and the author's reputation. Voting on Steem functions as a democratic mechanism that allows users To influence the distribution of prizes on this platform.
Meanwhile, curation refers To the act of identifying, finding ,and pushing high quality content on Steem. Curators are users whose job is To explore various content uploaded to the platform and select content that is considered valuable or of high quality.

In the Steem Blockchain, the rewards given To a Post will Differ depending on The time The voting or curation took Place. There are Two important periods That affect prizes : The first period (Before 5 minutes) and The second period (After 5 Minutes To 6 Days 12 hours).
First period ( Before 5 minutes):
When someone votes or curates a post within The first period ,the prize awarded will be calculated based on " full potential " or " maximum curation ". This means that the prize received by the content writer will Be up to 100% of the potential value that can Be obtained from the vote.Second period (after 5 minutes to 6 days 12 hours):
After the first period ends, the rewards awarded on posts will gradually decrease. During this period ,The reward will steadily decrease Until it reaches 50% of its potential value when it Reaches 6 days 12 hours.
So, if i select content Before 5 minutes or after 6 days 12 hours ,the rewards i receive will Be different From the other periods. In the first period ,I will get the maximum prize ,While In the second period ,the prize will Decrease over time.

The upvote weight depends upon amount of steem power staked by curator .
I would like to mention that making valuable comments and resteeeming the poste are also part of curation and even one more important thing of curation is downvoting of spam or abusive content to maintain the spirit of steemmbkockhain .
