I saw on TV today that the Dutch slave trade only was 5% or 10% of the global slave trade, most of it was done by the British. There was a program on where they walked through our city Middelburg with the "van Rossems."

haha zeker Rossems te kijken :)

Yes according to the books thats true. And even for U.K. it was just a fraction of their incomes.

It was more things like the trade monopolies they exploited.

exacto they made much more money with the V.O.C.

However, the profits dropped since the first profit. The Dutch monopoly positions had to be defended. And that was expenisve that eventually we lost it also to Spain-Portugal

Buying voc shares back then was about as much profitbale as investing in the State Debt.

Spain and Portugal were looting gold in South America by the ton, so that probably enabled them to buy bigger armies and fleets to defeat us.

I agree with your point. Also, why'd the WIC go bankrupt? I never knew they did.

It's crazy to think that a few hundred years ago people didn't truly consider Slavery to be as wrong as people believe it is today.

im not an expert but like I said in the post, they still had to fight the Spanish and Portuguese.(imo) War was expensive back then and was the nail to the coffin.

You are super right. However unfortunately slavery still exists.

Thanks for your comment.

Peace

Why the heck are humans so cruel to there own species. And it's even worse today than it was 200 years ago. All because of money

well, that's a good question. Wish I had the answer..

Yes some people got it bad on this planet, my situation is not perfect, but very doable.
