Weirdest cemetery in the world listed in Guinness Book of World Record.

in #history6 years ago (edited)

Would you believe it or not that one of the top weirdest cemetery in the world can be only found here in the Philippines. Specifically in the city where I live and the capital city of Negros Occidental " The Bacolod City ".

This also a cemetery that was listed in the Guinness Book of World Record. The only cemetery that is situated in the middle of two intersection the Lopez-Jaena and Burgos street . Then it was also featured before in a famous TV show " Ripleys Believe it or Not "to the list of all weird things in the world.

The said cemetery is owned by family Ruiz de Luzuriaga one of the most prominent and influencial people in Negros in the late centuries. 1840 when the first member of Ruiz de Luzuriaga clan came in the Philippines Don Eusebio Ruiz de Luzuriaga from Spain.

This a private cemetery of the Familia Ruiz de Luzuriaga and once became part of Burgos Public Cemetery. But because the city is on its phase of improving the route access for transportation. They don't have a choice but to cut the portion where the grave of Ruiz de Luzuriaga member was buried.

Historical Facts

Because of the kindness family Luzuriaga as sign of gratitude. They decided to leave that land portion for Luzuriaga Family. Actually the said land where the cemetery is located and the highways where constructed. Are formerly owned by this family and donated to the city of Bacolod.

As part of the condition instead of one road should be constructed. Two intersection was built in between the cemetery.

These are also the reasons why most of the structure in Negros are similar to Spanish Culture. Because during the colonialism of Spaniards they contributed a lot to our culture as Negrosanon. Most of the land in Negros are owned by Hacienderos with Spanish blood.

Ruiz de Luzuriaga family is a family with outstanding remarks in Bacolod City. This weirdest cemetery can be found in the middle on two intersection. Already became part of our history and contributed to the progress of the City.

Same with my previous post about the Pope john Paul II tower if you haven't read yet here is the link https://steemit.com/photography/@jezmacher/pope-john-paul-ii-tower . A rare structure that was built during the visit of our blessed Pope john Paul II way back in February 20, 1981.

Ruiz de Luzuriaga family cemetery and its impressive hidden stories. Proves how rich is our culture influenced during the Spanish Colonialism.

Want to know other things about Bacolod I have some link where you can visit at.

Wow bro this is amazing you have been going out. Has there been any hauntings in the said cemetery?
