A Prehistoric Landscape
Stonehenge
For some landscape photography we are revisiting Stonehenge, a prehistoric site in Wiltshire, England. The structure is thought to be more than 5000 years old and there is still some debate as to how the stones got there.
This photograph was taken from a moving car on our way home from an Easter break in Devon.

When I was growing up I walked among the stones on a number of occasions. We used to picnic there. Nowadays it is heavily managed and I don't think you're even allowed to touch the stones let alone sit amongst them.
The more people visit, the more it needs protecting. You can see from the photograph the hoards of people that were there on a Thursday, which wasn't actually a holiday and in the rain. It gives you an idea of just how busy it gets.

I'm off to Cornwall on Friday and planned to stop at Stonehenge?
Last time I visited years ago it was access all areas as you know.
Sounds like it is not so today. I may pop in and see what I can see.

My only photo of Stonehedge was also taken as we drove past and it was packed with people. Sadly I've never been proper even though it's sort of my neck of the woods.
Defnitely worth a visit I would say @livinguktaiwan although it's been a long time since I got any closer to the stones than the road. 😊
