This is my submission/humble tutorial, for interacting with the SBI, or Steem Basic Income Group... Let's first look at the contest rules... shall we?

We would like all of you to create a tutorial that would help a new person find their way in the world of Steem. Is that post a video on how to use Dtube? Will you write a step-by-step guide on how to sign up for #Ginabot, #SBI, or #dustsweeper? Would you possibly even step out of your comfort zone and write a post explaining what plagiarism is and how to site sources? There are so many ways you could go!

I have been with the SBI Group for a decent period of time; I am a Writer, as well as an SBI shares holder. But that Doesn't by any means, make me a professional. So... let's go through this, you and I, and see if we can find a way to show just how easy this really is...

See how easy that was? You haven't signed up yet? Well, let's do this!

Now before we get started, let's be sure you are familiar with our beloved @ginabot, because you will need to know how to interact with her, to check your #SBI status, and also, to be verified at the Steem Basic Income Discord Server. Interacting with
#Ginabot is pretty simple really... Whether at the SBI Group Discord or perhaps #playingwithbots channel... maybe even simply #botcommands at any given Discord Group. Let's not get that confused with the #verification channel, shall we? Ok... grab some coffee... tea... no reason to get uptight...

Here We Go

To get verified with #ginabot, go to [Your Favorite Discord Group] I would suggest going to our Steem Terminal Discord Group... Once you land, please give us a brief description of yourself in the #introductions channel, so we know who you are, and how to help you :) Then... head to the #playing-with-bots channel. These steps will get you registered with #ginabot:

• Type the following: ..reg <your steemit name without the @>
• You will see a message like this: One moment, please... OK, to verify that <your steemit name> account belongs to you, Send 0.001 SBD or STEEM to @ginabot Use this token as memo: <generated memo here> If you are from mobile and can not copy the token, type: ..memo steemName (without @ character) I will send your coins back after we're done! :slight_smile:

You will then have to go to your Wallet via your platform of choice and proceed with the following transaction:

You would, of course, replace my name with yours... and in the memo, supply the generated memo that #ginabot gave you in the above-mentioned example. Then once you have completed this transaction (giver her a little time to process), return to the #playing-with-bits channel, and re-type:

• ..reg <your steemit name without the @> If you were successful, you should see the following message: One moment, please... @yoursteeminame account has been registered and validated to your Discord alias! You can type: ..set to access your settings page.

Pretty easy so far... right?

If you want to go ahead and type in the ..set command...feel free. #ginabot will send you a DM with instructions to a link, to set up your notification settings.

Now that you are registered with #ginabot, we can move on to the #SBI portion of my #DIY post!

Steem Basic Income

Let's first start with the definition of What Basic Income Is

Steem Basic Income (SBI) is structured as a subscription upvote service that utilizes the Steem blockchain to deliver a sustainable basic income. The ‘basic income’ that SBI provides is voluntary and self/crowdfunded, using Steem’s unique stake-based reward mechanisms. It serves as a continuous base of support.
On Steem, regular votes attract more votes. A 1 STEEM transfer sent to the @steembasicincome account will start an account in Steem Basic Income, while a USD$20 subscription (how much STEEM can you buy for $20?) is a great way to really boost an account’s growth - as long as that Steemian’s quality remains good.

This definition is from the above "Sourced" page... for further information, I would suggest going to the following post entitled, Steem Basic Income_ Frequently Asked Questions. So you've got #ginabot, now you are ready to start your #SBI journey; basically stated... you CAN NOT enroll yourself. Rather... you must be sponsored by another Steemian... For sake of explanation, let us presume you are already a member and wish to check your enrollment status:

I just sent a transaction sponsoring someone and I’m not seeing an upvote on my posts, did you miss my transaction?
If it has been at least three hours, you can check your enrollment by typing !sbi status in a comment.
How frequently you receive upvotes depends on your subscription level and posting frequency, so you might not receive an update on every post you make!

Now... I will say; you are better to go to a #botcommands related channel, to reduce the stress on the block-chain... that message is even stated on every interview I have submitted, that has been published; it seems to be somewhat of a "thing" for everyone to type in their !sbi syntax in the comments area, but... I digress. I hope this #SBI #DIY post has been helpful to you...
