Helpie’s Homesteading Curation Report

Tenth Edition

helpie-homesteading_01.png

Welcome to the weekly Helpie Homesteading Curation Report, where we feature some amazing content creators coming out of the Homesteading Community. Our goal is to find those individuals that are producing high quality content and raise them up to help them grow. We do this by featuring them here to introduce them to all of you lovely people. We hope this helps to get them a larger audience, therefore getting them the recognition we think their wonderful content deserves. Then, because we think it is important to give credit where credit is due, we split this reports payout between the featured authors. We believe this is the only fair way to curate these individuals content that they have worked so hard on. We hope that if you choose to use these blogs in a post of your own, that you will join us in paying them for their content as well.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for great content! We want to reward those individuals that are taking their time and energy to add value to the platform through their high quality content. That’s it, think quality over quantity. We will be collecting them through the week and posting our favorites here each Monday.

First Things First: What is Helpie?

Helpie is a new and unique educational community within Steemit, designed to help users that are creating quality content grow on the platform. We do this through a variety of ways including;

  • Lessons designed to help users navigate the steemit network and teach them how to get the most out of it. (ex. GINAbot Tutorial, Growing Your Following On Steemit, and Markdown Challenge
  • Daily Steemit related trivia and contests
  • Mentorship from established Steemit users in all different categories
  • A place to discuss ideas, collaborate with other members, and build your personal community
  • Daily upvote from Helpie for members
  • Weekly Curation of great quality content. We have a wonderful Fine Arts Curation Report in addition to this Homesteading Curation and hope to add more categories in the future.

Helpie is an invite only community, but anyone can participate in the daily trivia questions. You are not required to upvote Helpie’s posts to participate. This initiative is not meant to be a vote for vote operation; it’s an educational tool only. If you would like to be considered to join @Helpie as a minnow in training, please consider joining PALnet/MSP and participating in the community. We have scouts constantly looking for the right minnows to support, and they will reach out with a private invitation.

This Week's Featured Steemians

More Plants In The Greenhouse. By @Amberyooper

@Amberyooper is a well known member of not only Helpie, but also the PAL server as well. They are very supportive and so helpful of other Steemians, while writing fun and informative posts about their gardening adventures, among other things. Lately they have been keeping us updated on the progress in their greenhouse and the start of their gardening season. Being in the Michigan Upper Peninsula, they know a thing or two about not letting the cold harsh winters stop you from growing your own food, and they share all their tips with us to do the same.

Their other recent posts include Vertical Planters | Part 2 and Greenhouse Tour.

Prepper Navigation By @Preppervetuk

@preppervetuk’s blog is a gold mine of information that is helpful for not just preppers, but anyone who spends time in nature. Their featured post today is a well written article on the importance of Navigation, they say “Navigation - a skill that most take for granted and not practised enough, especially with our increasing reliance on GPS technology.” I couldn’t agree more with this statement, and think it’s an important skill for us all to be familiar with. He takes us through his personal tips and tricks along with a system he has come up with to rate certain paths of a journey, that way you are always prepared. This information is vital in not only emergency situations but also for the avid hiker and adventurer. Go check out his blog and absorb all the information you can.

Primitive Engineering- Moving Trees By Hand By @Senorcoconut

Have you ever needed to move a fallen tree and just didn’t have a chainsaw available? There are many situations where using modern technology may not be an option at the time. Luckily for us @senorcoconut is taking us back to our roots and showing us step by step how the process was done in the past using simple machines. He includes some great videos of the processes well that are as entertaining as they are informative. His blog is full of their adventures of beginning their homestead and all of the work that goes into it. Make sure to follow them to keep up on their ongoing journey!

His other recent posts include Our Off-Grid Mansion Is Finally Here and Building With Pallets.

This concludes the tenth edition of Helpie’s Weekly Homesteading Curation Report. We need your help in lifting these wonderful Steemians, so please go and read the featured Steamians blogs and show them the love that their hard work deserves. We believe it is important for us to lift up good content on Steemit to help further grow the platform as a whole.

We are constantly searching for good content that deserves to be in the spotlight. If you come across a Homesteading post that you believe is worthy of promotion in this weekly report, feel free to tag @llfarms in the comments or send a DM message over discord.

Thank you so much for reading and Happy Homesteading,

This is excellent news!!! Thank you for curating my post and my blog, I had no idea how much of a useful thing I was writing yesterday. This couldn't have come at a better time... I was starting to wonder why do I write if no one reads the stuff!!! (I am exaggerating a bit, I could keep going a long time before I gave up on steemit, I like the community too much!)

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Great weekly curation, I'm already familiar with @preppervetuk and following him, and I will ne looking at @Amberyooper's blog now.

It's an honour to be listed here, thanks again!

Thank you so much for the support and for you’re amazing post! It’s true, sometimes we feel a bit like a little fish in a huge ocean and that’s why we are dedicated to showcasing those individuals producing great content like yourself. Don’t give up! Keep doing what you’re doing and your audience will continue to grow.

Thank you for your kind words! That's very sweet and very motivating. I will keep on steeming on for sure!!!

Thanks for your help

Hello Helpie. This might be a silly question but I wanted to know what homesteading is. I am starting to create content related to cryptocurrency markets and am not sure If I would qualify to be a part of your group. I see most people in your group are travelers or are nature related bloggers. It seems like you have a great community and if my content is accepted I would love to join. Thanks for your time.

Hey @cryptodex! Welcome to steemit ❤️.

Homesteading is a term used for individuals living off the land in one way or another. Topics normally include gardening, keeping livestock, preserving food, solar energy or really anything that makes us less dependent on the local grocery store etc.

Helpie is actually a community made up of a large variety of individuals and not specifically homesteading alone. We also do an art curation as well and hope to add more in the future.

Our goal is to help support great content creators through education as well as building a community to help lift each other up.

Awesome Work my Dear @llfarms on my way to visit these blogs... thank your for all you do!
