Genesis 14:1-5

We start chapter fourteen today with more names and places as promised. The reading mentions all the kings and places where they ruled. There is imminent war on the horizon.

In the video today, I talk about the endings that describe the peoples, in English they are generally the "Amorites, the. Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites" all ending in --ites

In Hebrew the same peoples have the "im" or "ee" ending which would not sound good in English, so they changed it.

We also see the "Salt Sea" mentioned, which is now called the "Dead Sea." The salt concentration is the highest in the world, so much so that you can actually float as in the image.
