The Weekly Steemit Health Challenge #2: Seed cookie

in #healthchallenge6 years ago (edited)

Hi dear community of food and healthy desserts, I am very happy to participate in this contest and to show you how to prepare this delicious and healthy recipe: Seed cookie. My entry in this second week week of the challenge organized by @healthsquared and @sweetsssj

Nutritional properties of the seeds:

In general lines we can say that the seeds stand out for their fiber content that contributes to intestinal health and prevent chronic diseases, as well as their content in healthy fats and in minerals that the body needs, even using them in small quantities. They fill us with benefits by including them in the recipes.

The seeds help enrich our diet and contribute to weight reduction, cholesterol, inflammation and cellulite; regulate intestinal transit and increase lean body mass. They are indicated for people with overweight, obesity, constipation, high cholesterol or simply those who want to have a healthier diet.

A cup of water

1/2 cup flax seeds

1/2 cup of Chia seeds

1/2 cup of sunflower seeds or marigold

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds or squash seeds

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon of honey

One teaspoon of coconut oil

One teaspoon of almond butter (or peanut)

1. Mix all the ingredients.

2. Once all the ingredients are well mixed, let stand 10 minutes to allow the seeds of flaxseed and chia to become somewhat gelatinous.

3. Distribute the mixture on butter or aluminum paper (you can add a little oil to avoid sticking)

4. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees C. If they are still wet, put them back in the oven on the other side until they are dry.

5. Remove from the oven and cut into cookies.

This is the result of these healthy and rich seed cookies.

Enjoy it with families and friends.
