There's a growing practice of spraying glyphosate [an ingredient of Monsanto's RoundUp among others] onto crops to desiccate them not long before harvest to speed up drying & removal of the grain. 
It was believed that glyphosate was safe because it breaks down quickly when it hits soil or water, but in these late spraying cases it isn't being washed from crops or broken down before it is sent into the food chain, and it's safety in any use setting is questionable.

Glyphosate causes weed plants to overgrow, weaken and then die.  It's no surprise then that it is considered a carcinogen.  Equally as worrying, it is thought to disrupt hormones, damage mitochondria, cause gut damage, & have the potential to cause birth defects.  

A growing body of research is documenting health concerns of glyphosate as an endocrine disruptor and that it kills beneficial gut bacteria, damages the DNA in human embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells and is linked to birth defects and reproductive problems in laboratory animals. link


Pamela Coleman, PhD from Farm and Food Policy and an Analyst for the Cornucopia Institute has said:

“Contrary to the current widely-held misconception that glyphosate is relatively harmless to humans, the available evidence shows that glyphosate may rather be the most important factor in the development of multiple chronic diseases and conditions that have become prevalent in Westernized societies.”

Mitochondrial dysfunction is associates with:

all of which we know are on the rise.  For example, in the USA autism now affects 1:28 boys and 1:36 girls and rates have risen sharply.  Many of the autistic children I work with [as a homeopath] are diagnosed with mitochondrial disorders.  

A Case Of Glyphosate Toxicity Related Fibromyalgia Treated with Homeopathic Detox.
Last year I was treating a lady who'd sprayed a lot of RoundUp on her garden and we decided to detox glyphosate to see if we could improve her fibromyalgia.  As you might know fibro involves body pains [rheumatism], brain fog and other chronic fatigue symptoms.  After using a homeopathic potency of glyphosate over an 8 week protocol she reported that her pain levels had gone from near 10/10 to 0/10, her brain fog had lifted [it was OBVIOUS to me when I spoke to her.  She'd gone from struggling to speak to me & appearing unintelligent to being sharp and lucid] and her daughter reported she'd found her trying to take out contact lenses that were not in her eyes as her eye sight had improved that much she was convinced she had them in.  I'll update this post with a the story in her own words when she sends it [I just asked her this evening].

  • Breathing difficulty
  • Coma
  • Blue lips or fingernails (rare)
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness

A Note on Gluten Intolerance:
Glyphosate sensitivity can be the cause of some people's sensitivity to grains.  It may not be the grain itself that you are allergic to.  Try swapping to organic.

Just found you due to your comment on a post I made, VERY pleased to meet you. Thank you for this very needed information. So many people think they are gluten intolerant because the doctors are using that as the official scapegoat for glyphosate poisoning, imo.

It is very arguable the glyphosate is the most toxic component of GMO foods. Now that it is being used on non-GMO foods it makes GMO-Free labeling slightly less important and organic more important.

Glad someone else knows glyph is likely responsible for the surge in gluten intolerance (among other dusted grains).
Sad thing is we are exchanging glyph dusted gluten bread for gf products made from rice which is high in arsenic! Hell’s teeth. Out of the fireplace and into the fire!
It’s not enough even to stick to raw ingredients to avoid being poisoned by the food industry! Even our raw materials are contaminated more and more 🙁

Organic food is better & a more sustainable food source anyway. They use glyphosate to combat pests but pests combat glyphosate as quick as it prevents it they just mutate to make their selves immune. I believe that Distilled water can flush any toxin out of your body. I hope you don't mind me sharing a link.

Glyphosate is a herbicide not a pesticide so it is only meant to kill weeds.

Both herbicides and pesticides fall under the title "Pesticide". & according to the World Health Organization it's probably carcinogenic. Herbicides and pesticides are metal chelators, which means they immobilize specific nutrients, rendering them unavailable to the plant and any animal or human who consumes that plant, The nutritional efficiency of genetically engineered plants is profoundly compromised. Micronutrients such as iron, manganese and zinc can be reduced by as much as 80-90 percent in GE plants.
Organically grown food is much better for long term sustainability both within the farming industry & for the health of the end user. The weeds evolve to beat the herbicide anyway as the pests do to beat the pesticides. The smaller the organism the quicker it usually evolves much like diseases mutate to beat antibiotics. 'Chemicals are bad for our health period'. We should look to avoid them wherever possible. It wouldn't be so bad if the farmers using it could keep it on their own fields but they cant the wind takes it so its not bad enough that they are poisoning their own supply of food they are poisoning the air & food supply growing anywhere near it. Most people who think they are gluten intolerant aren't they are intolerant to Glyphosate. The farmers also try to dry the wheat & corn out in such bulk (for profit) that some is still green & unfit for human consumption. This isn't the poor farmer this is the big fat cat farmer that has never driven a tractor before in his life. The only benefit for Glyphosate is that the farmers get a 10% extra yield on their crop the public get a slice of poison with every slice of bread.

As glyphosate is so widespread worldwide, it is the most widely used herbicide in Europe, and not being as safe as thought, how is it possible for the European community to approve its use for another 5 years?

I've been aware of this for a while and it seems to be the case, as out here in Spain, I can eat bread all day, without much bloating, whereas in the UK, it affects me more. I understand that Glyphosate dessication is common in the UK, while in Spain, not very much.

Excellent re Spain. I think the practice started about 1980 in Scotland and is favoured in climates where it is hard to desiccate the crops so it would make sense you’d see less in Spain.
