The nerve cells are specialized cells, which transmits message from one part to another part of the body. All cellular organisms have evolved a coordinating system by which messages can be received and transmitted very rapidly to organs, enabling them to respond to an environmental change.

cell body:
(soma) is the factory of the neuron. It produces all the proteins for the dendrites, axons and synaptic terminals and contains specialized organelles such as the mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum, secretory granules, ribosomes and polysomes to provide energy and make the parts, as well as a production line to assemble the parts into completed products.
dendrites:
the short cytoplasmic processes of cell body which receives stimulus from other neurone are called dendrites.The dendrites conduct nerve impulses induced by stimuli towards the cell body.The dendrites at their origin from cell body are 5-10 µm in thickness but gradually their thickness decreases by profuse branching.
axon:
An axon, or nerve fiber, is a long slender projection of a nerve cell, or neuron, that conducts electrical impulses away from the neuron's cell body or soma.
Axons are in effect the primary transmission lines of the nervous system, and as bundles they help make up nerves.
Nodes of Ranvier:
Node of Ranvier, periodic gap in the insulating sheath (myelin) on the axon of certain neurons that serves to facilitate the rapid conduction of nerve impulses.
Myelin Sheath:
The myelin sheath is a protective covering that surrounds fibres called axons, the long thin projections that extend from the main body of a nerve cell or neuron. This sheath is composed of protein and lipids.
Shwann Cell:
The myelin sheath is made of a material called myelin, which is produced by special cells known as Schwann cells. Schwann cells are cells in the peripheral nervous system that form the myelin sheath around a neuron's axon.

How can you repair damaged nerve cells for example nerves to the skin. Do you justl et it get better by itself or is there a way to speed things up?
There are ways to speed things up with HGH & rootcell therapy.
