Cucumber

Pipino is what we call the cucumber in our language. It is one of my favorite food. I have always thought that cucumbers are vegetables, but actually they are fruits. I know that a lot of people already know some of the health benefits that cucumbers provide to our body.

  • It is high in nutrients , especially when eating the cucumbers with peels.
  • It contains antioxidants that prevents the accumulation of harmful free radicals and may reduce the risk of chronic disease.
  • It promotes hydration. Cucumbers are composed of about 96% water, thus, they may help you meet you daily fluid needs.
  • It may aid in weight loss.
  • It may lower blood sugar.
  • It could promote regularity. The good amount of water and fiber found in cucumbers may help increase regularity and prevent constipation.
  • Easy add to your diet; it can be eaten fresh or pickled. It's also a good addition to different dishes to add flavor.
