Mmmm.... What Does Liberty Taste Like Where You Live?

Here in Idaho, THIS is the sweet taste of liberty. Yes, yes, that IS about 2 inches of rich cream on top of each jug, that will be yummy in my coffee!

Raw milk. The kind of stuff we drank back when no one was "lactose intolerant." Remember? Before it was all homogenized and Pasteurized everyone I knew drank milk, no one was "allergic" to it. Maybe people are really allergic to all the bastardization we do of our whole foods?

Here is why this is funny to me...

In Louisiana and Iowa, you are free to do as you're told. No weed or raw milk for you. Liberty tastes like the polish off the Jack-boot you are licking.

In Montana, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware and Hawaii your liberty tastes like dank buds, but you may not quench your cotton mouth with raw milk.

Nevada is my favorite. Your liberty tastes like swimming in a gutter. You may go gamble the night away, go get high as hell, pick up a random stranger and pay them for sex, but you want a sip of raw milk? Oh, looks like your luck just ran out! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas except drinking raw milk, that goes to court.

Sort:

That's government people. It protects you from MILK. I wonder what happened to our ancestors. At least weed makes you high and can impair judgement and efficiency. What does MILK do?

Oh wait! You can't stimulate the economy if people drink it raw. Next stop is mandatory purchase of condoms for adults. You know more consumption, more sales, more tax so they can drop some bombs and fund NSA.

Yep, and just the basic indoctrination of the belief that the government must approve your food before it is safe.

Approval process creates Jobs. It's good for economy. It also expands government control. That's a good thing. Period.

The downfall of any civilization is always linked with discarding personal responsibility. The universe is built upon actions and consequences. There is no escape from than. Try to work around this and the prosperity will drop from you.

In ancient times my country was an economic powerhouse. Then people gave up the fundamentals that built that powerhouse. Now the country is just.....there. USSA will tread the same path. Sweden seems to have already tread a long way on that path.

It is a vicious cycle... The approval process creates jobs, and the people who will work those jobs have their livelihood dependent upon their BELIEF that they are doing a good thing. Now the approval process-generated jobs have, in turn, generated a clergy for the new religion...

Either we destroy this system or the system eventually destroy itself like the USSR.

"Capital was wasted on oversized glassware" - LOL! Thanks for that, I had never seen that guy before, he is good.

The channel has some good clips. Too bad they don't have regular updates. At least we now have a definitive closing argument for the Glass. No need to be a realist and blow money on whisky to pour into the glass.

hillarious (if you are very advanced in humor)! I like your style!

Thank you! My humor often gets me in trouble, but I cannot help it if some people have no sense of humor. :)

As someone who lives in Arizona and regularly consumes raw milk, it is WAY better than store bought milk. I buy a gallon at a time and there is always enough cream on top to make my own butter for the week, and have enough cream left over for coffee. The taste is way better because its a little buttery - thats the fat cells that haven't broken down from pasteurization. Its fat cells that make the nutrients in the milk consumable by your stomach. When they are boiled away the milk becomes worthless and you're not getting hardly any calcium or vitamin D uptake.

Also, most dairy "allergies" are actually the body reacting to an unnatural form of milk. Many people I've met report their children who were allergic to store milk were fine with raw milk.

You left out an important element of their marketing genius... All those wonderful bacteria that are boiled off? After you use chemicals to make yogurt out of the sterile milk, put some lab cultured versions of that SAME bacteria back in, and charge extra for it. Have all the doctors tell everyone to eat the yogurt, but fear the milk!

So true, natural foods are obviously bad for you so laws have to protect everyone from the food that all our ancestors thrived on. Long live fast foods, NOT. Upvote, good post.

I keep telling you I love your writing, I don't want to sound like a broken record. :)

My wife @countrylover has a funny story from her childhood. She had a friend over and they were drinking milk. He said it tastes really good, what is it? She said "it's goat milk" and he sprayed it all over the kitchen! To her, it was just a normal thing; to him, it was something foreign and horrible and wrong! But it tasted just great a moment before. :)

I just commented on your post about unfollowing, which I need to do (that is, look at all those I'm following and see if I really want to). Conversely, from this post I just followed three more people who align! :)

Yeah, well chatting with you is worth more than all the steem and btc in the world. It really is fun to be back in touch. And yeah, it turned out I was following some great folks, but never saw their posts!

Agreed, the interface could use some help.

I LOVE raw milk. I grew up with a milk cow (and a barn with pigs and chickens) in our back yard and loved the fresh milk. There is one place around here where we can get it, and I think it's ridiculous that they keep trying to outlaw raw milk.

Of course I find the fact that weed is illegal to be absurd as well!
