HF19! First Thoughts (Whats your strategy?)
So HF19 is here and everyone is excited about the big payouts rise!, but what would be your strategy for upvoting?, now that you have a real voting power?...
I have been surfing through all the feeds (home, new, hot and trending), and everything looks really different now, the post on the "hot" feed looks like the old "trending" in terms of payouts, and the trending payouts are now ridiculous high!, so what should i be upvoting?
So i thought that lots of the post on the trending page are big established authors who i really like, and i usually upvote those and comment their stuff, but do they really need my upvote?, they are doing pretty well (+1000$ each post), so for now i am thinking in upvoting newer authors in order to help them, probably i would get higher curation rewards by upvoting big payout posts, and maybe i can upvote some of them sometimes, but i really feel like smaller newer authors deserve also a lot of attention.
This will help grow everybody SP, and with the time there will be even more people with very high voting power, and that will benefit us all!...
Imagine you have a garden, and a lot of trees in there, the biggest trees are giving you good fruit for now, so would you water only the big trees?, would it not be better also to water and dedicate more care to the little trees, so those will give you fruits in the future?
So, this is my initial thought and strategy, i do noticed the voting power kinda drains fast, but im not making a big deal out of it, right now it is 70% and still worth like 0,3$ or 0,2$, wich is huge compared to the 0$ it used to be before LOL... As i dont have the voting power bar yet (i will get it when i get 500$) i just should take it a little easy, but i am not worrying much about it...
So tell me, what are your initial thought? and what is your strategy?
Well... I'm pretty much a newcomer... So... The changes come in several ways really handy to me... And think it's gonna be easier to learn how to select a post to upvote...

I don't know. I don't know how to change my voting power. I'm still kind of learning.
You cant change it yet, just until you get 500 SP or more... Right now just go easy but don't worry too much, just try to not go under 50% and you are ok...

My strategy: Stop voting so much. It's to the point that there is no point in voting anymore until this recovers. @ironshield
LOL, yes, just wait a couple of days... And go easy, but don't stop voting!

It takes 5 days to go from 0 - 100% voting power. VP recovers faster the lower it is. @ironshield

I agree, upvoting and commenting (and resteeming) on lower reputation authors who offer interesting posts and comments is the way to go. Not only do new users appreciate it more, but I believe the best way to grow on Steemit is organic - pay more attention to good content than on $$ strategies. Then you can enjoy Steemit and make $$ without even thinking about it! :-) @ironshield
that's true my friend! is specially important to know now whom and when to vote, and with wich percent for those who can choose the amount, so far, I have been voting at 30-50-70% like 20 post today and my voting power is at 94% so I havent seen much of a difference but I agree totally with you about the trending posts, I don't even go to that section since long ago. I usually vot my community of friends and some newbies that need help. so I'll continue as usual, hoping people will also vote me eventually!
How do you choose percentage upvote? That would be useful. @ironshield
Changes are always alarming ...
I'm still on the fence about the hardfork. On the one hand, my voting value is greatly increased. I was able to increase the payouy value on this post by 14 cents. Before the hardfork, my vote would have been worth 1 or 2 cents.
On the other hand, the voting power runs down pretty fast, so I can't just go and vote on whatever I find interesting, I have to be more picky about my votes and give them to people that I've been following who's content I am following, in my case, mostly gardeners and musicians. I don't have the voting flexibility that I had before. If I could adjust my voting power, it would be easier to "spread the love around".
