Ron de Ponsigué para VDux's Haiku Contest About Food
Esta es mi segunda entrada para el VDux's Haiku Contest About Food (allí pueden consultar las bases), promovido por @vdux. Es un concurso encantador, que estimula la difusión de diversas culturas a través de su comida navideña.
He decidido presentar mi entrada en español. Como dije en mi post anterior, la Navidad es un sentimiento, y para mí todo sentimiento va unido al lenguaje. Hay cosas que solo puedo expresar con palabras de mi lengua materna. Esto es lo que ocurre justamente con este post y con este haikú. En realidad, es lo que me ocurre con el ron de ponsigué, tema de mi poema.
This is my second entry for the VDux's Haiku Contest About Food(there you can consult the rules), promoted by @vdux. It's a charming contest, which stimulates the diffusion of diverse cultures through their Christmas food.
I have decided to present my entry in Spanish. As I said in my previous post, Christmas is a feeling, and for me all feeling is linked to language. There are things that I can only express with words from my mother tongue. This is exactly what happens with this post and this haiku. In fact, this is what happens to me with Ponsigué rum, the subject of my poem.
El ron de ponsigué es una bebida muy especial para mí, y es la que recoje de entre todas mi sentido de la Navidad. Es una bebiida hecha de la maceración de una fruta aromática que se da muy bien en el oriente de mi país, Venezuela. Perfumada cuando está fresca y cuando se fermenta produce un licor exquisito: una experiencia lujosa para el paladar.
La maceración puede durar de meses a años y se sirve directamente de la botella donde se fermenta. Si eres muy afortunado al servir la ronda un ponsigué como un precioso botón de oro caerá en tu copa. ¡Entonces toda la Navidad será dorada!
Ponsigué rum is a very special drink for me, and it is the one that gathers all my sense of Christmas. It is a drink made from the maceration of an aromatic fruit that gives very well in the east of my country, Venezuela. Perfumed when fresh and when fermented it produces an exquisite liquor: a luxurious experience for the palate.
Maceration can last from months to years and is served directly from the bottle where it is fermented. If you are very fortunate to serve the round a ponsigué as a precious gold button will fall into your glass. Then all of Christmas will be golden!
Una acotación sobre el haikú en español
El haikú en español conserva el esquema métrico de 5-7-5 sílabas. Al no exigir rima, su fuerza musical se asienta en el ritmo. Por supuesto, conserva todas las características estéticas que la sofisticación japonesa le confirió desde sus inicios.
Sin embargo, se ciñe a los requrimientos métricos de la composición del verso en español. Esto quiere decir que es necesario conservar en esta estrofa todos los fenómenos que inciden en la extensión del verso: diéresis, sinalefa, hiato, sinéresis, etc.
Dicho esto colocaré mi haikú en español y su versión en inglés.
A note about haiku in Spanish
The Spanish haiku retains the metric scheme of 5-7-5 syllables. By not demanding rhyme, its musical strength lies in the rhythm. Of course, it preserves all the aesthetic characteristics that Japanese sophistication gave it from its beginnings.
However, it adheres to the metric requirements of the composition of the Spanish verse. This means that it is necessary to preserve in this stanza all the phenomena that affect the length of the verse: dieresis, sinalefa, hiatus, syneresis, etc.
Como suelo hacer, he realizado una pequeña ilustración para mi post. Parece increíble, pero no encontré una buena foto de una copita de ron de ponsigué.
As I usually do, I have made a small illustration for my post. It seems incredible, but I didn't find a good photo of a glass of rum de ponsigué.
Having said this, I will place my haiku in Spanish and its English version.

Mi haikú en español tiene la métrica ajustada del siguiente modo:
Bo-tón-pre-cio-so (5 sílabas)
En-mi-co-paem-bria-ga-do (7 silabas, por la presenciadela sinalefa
Un-pon-si-gué (4+1, que se suma por ser un verso agudo=5 silabas).
Ahora bien, en inglés, solo puedo lograr la medida modificando un poco los versos (tratando de no perder el sentido). Se me ocurre que así puede ser un modo:

He's very drunk in my glass:
It's a ponsigué!

Bo-tón-pre-cio-so (5 sílabas)
En-mi-co-paem-bria-ga-do (7 silabas, por la presenciadela sinalefa
Un-pon-si-gué (4+1, que se suma por ser un verso agudo=5 silabas).
Ahora bien, en inglés, solo puedo lograr la medida modificando un poco los versos (tratando de no perder el sentido). Se me ocurre que así puede ser un modo:

Thank for the second haiku! Can you rewrite so it fits the rules? Five syllables first line, seven syllables second line, five syllables third line, in Spanish or English (or both!)
