The Search for Snow (Part 5 of 9)

The Land of the Morning Calm is such a wonderful place, filled with rich culture and history. My family and I spent the start of this year there, and this is the fifth part of my love letter to it.

Unification

I know that haikus are most commonly associated with Japan, and it's the last thing that Koreans want to be tied with. But, in the spirit of unification, I thought that this was an apt route to take. And, my explanation is now way longer than the actual content. Awesome. In any case, I hope you enjoyed the message, and I thank you for your support through comments and votes. It really means a lot!

Um, thanks! I appreciate the pick-me-up!

Man, this is an awesome dream... and dreams are usually the first steps to reality. :)

True that! Reality won't shape itself. Someone, at least one person, needs to hold out hope :D

I am chuckling at your explanation being much longer than the haiku (obvs) :0D

Heck, your comment is even longer than my haiku!! Hahaha! Somehow, I feel like writing it was cheating, but then Zappl posts have more or less that same amount of characters, don't they?

I think they do, I tried using it again the other day and it wouldnt let me post my post so I cant quite rememeber what it is like to use it!

It is quite hard to figure out, isn't it? I do hope they find their way. There's always Google Maps or Waze.

Definitely an apt route to take! Ha, the explanation taking longer made me giggle :)

Definitely a problem shared among the verbose, isn't it sis? :)

Pride is the order of our society, no one wants to come under for another, unification is a process and initiated by one, who starts it as he who starts it may feel inferior or dependent on...... It's a great message, hope more and more people get to read and hear this truth. Thanks for sharing.

Great sentiment! I do agree with your thoughts, my friend. Thanks for taking the time to share it! :D

Thank you so much

Don't mention it!

I doubt they'll truly like each other if and when the unification takes place. 60 years of disparate mind filling, with different conditioning and programming messages, takes its toll. It has been the same elsewhere, too.

Well, thinking like that surely won't help. We have to hold out hope for piece. The old ways doesn't mean that it's the right way.

Not everything of old is the right way and not everything of the new either. I refer to the unification of Germany, and I have been traveling then quite a lot. Believe me, it was a tough rubbing time until the beliefs of the respectful parties were shredded to somewhat smaller differences. I guess Koreans aren't so much different as humans. Of course, I hope they'll settle their differences peacefully - it would be better for everyone on this planet.

Yeah, you're right. I do agree with that. I'm more of referring to the negative thinking from the old ways. That's not to say that the new way is perfect, because it has tons of flaws as well. I bet that it was a turbulent time. I couldn't imagine living in such turmoil.

I knew I was there somewhere!

Are you familiar with Rodney King, after being beat up by the cops in LA he stated, why can’t we all just get along.

I can't say that I am, but how coincidental that the quote is similar to the one I included in my haiku. Just goes to show that a call for peace is global, and transcends any language barrier.
