Its somewhat complicated and simple. About 2000 years ago, a humble fellow set about telling people good news. His motive was to break down the barrier between the common man and the most high God. Like I said, its complicated and simple.
He was born of a woman but conceived of the Holy spirit, so he technically had no biological earthly mother; he was in essence, a half man and half God. However, the scripture in the Bible puts Him on equal standing with God and the Holy Spirit, the other two God heads of the Holy Trinity. Complicated yet simple. Complicated because its hard to wrap our minds around the concept but simple because you don't have to, you just have to accept them as God divine.
By the time he was 33 years old, the scribes and Pharisees of the time were uncomfortable with the shift in doctrine he purported because it would result in a reduction in their religious relevance, which was a big deal back then. So they made up some bogus accusations against him and had him killed by crucifiction.
Three days later, he wasn't quite as dead as he was the day he was killed, actually he was totally undead but not like a zombie, like alive alive. He busted out of his tomb and ascended to Heaven, where he's in charge along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.
