Devil Gundam: Thigh Scratch Building [Leg Modification - Part 7]

in #gunpla8 years ago (edited)
Hi guys!

Today I will start scratch building the thigh from my sketches (I actually made a couple of sketches yesterday decide to use this one). So here are my updates today for the Project Devil Gundam!

From paper to pla plate

Using those measurements I made yesterday on the sketch I started drawing them on the pla plate.

From the drawings I started marking the edges using scribing pen then using a ruler I scribe slowly following the drawings.

This step is necessary to make it easier for me later to trim this piece and file the edge. Since the scribing was pretty deep so I know where to stop filing.

Trimmed and cleaned

After carefully trimmed and cleaned the piece I tried to compared it again with the actually sketch. And so far this looks good. So I don't need to redo this first piece.

Remember, this piece is going to be 3 dimensional which means I have to measure what is the best thickness for the thigh.

I will do this later while slowly checking the proportion with the bottom leg.

Trimming the bottom leg

I scribe this yesterday and I will trim this part off to give it a bit more detail. But I will do more detailing on the leg later.

I want to break that bulky shape of the leg by giving so edges that later I can work with when detailing.

This wide space feels really empty so I will probably so several different methods of detailing later.

Test fit (kind of)

I want to see if the proportion is good enough with the thigh I just build. And at a glance I think it looks okay.

Although, I can't really tell unless the thigh is 3 dimensional which will take quite a while to build.

Also, I trying to imagine if there is enough space for the knee there and how the piston will be embedded at the back of the leg.

So this is my updates and ideas for today on this Devil Gundam x Neue Ziel Project.

Keep on building! Keep on steeming! Have a nice day!
