Learn Guitar: B Locrian Spacing
Today we will discuss the interval spacing of the Locrian mode, the 7th and final mode. Though the notes are all the same as C Ionian, the order starts with B instead of C, thus: B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B. The intervals from the perspective of Ionian are 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, but it is best to look at the 7 as 1, so the intervals from the perspective of Locrian would be 1, b2, b3, 4, b5, b6, b7, 1.
Because locrian contains a 1, b3, b5, the chord one would play would be a diminished chord and in the key of C Ionian, one would play B diminished for the Locrian mode. The spacing between intervals in locrian are h, w, w, h, w, w, w. Locrian is good for some meloncholy music or downer due to all the flats.
Tomorrow we will go into common interval patterns such as 6, 5, 4, and 1, 6, 5, 4 the first contains the intevals Bob Dylan used in "All Along the Watchtower" the second is commong to doo wop, most of the common interval patterns we will use contain, 1, 4, 5 which is what the pattern is for the common twelve bar blues.

I don't know how to play guitar and in fact any instrument but i am trying to learn piano and my friend is learning Guitar.
nice well some of this theory is applicable to piano, the key of c ionian is all the white keys on piano.
