Apologies about the issues with Sourcefinder. I'm currently awaiting data from ASKAP to generate new work units with. In addition, I'm working on a new app (SoFiA) and when that's done we'll have some new work units to crunch.

I understand that for a system like gridcoin, that sort of sporadic work probably isn't a good fit, so I'm personally fine with it being on or off the whitelist. I just want whatever works well for gridcoin :)

Thank you for posting this info sam632, really appreciated ..

We have an immediate need for a greylist, this is an ongoing discussion which desperately needs solving.

for users unfamiliar with the term greylist in this context:

Thank you, Sam! Also, for taking the time to help us with our internal problems...

Sam -- thanks so much for checking in.

I just want to reaffirm that our attempt to remove SourceFinder from the Whitelist is in no way a reflection of our feelings about the SF project as a whole. In reality, our community overwhelmingly approved adding it but we should have waited to add it until there were more WUs available.

My hope is that we can get this removed from the Whitelist temporarily (so we're not rewarding people with GRC who aren't having to do any work) and get it right back on the Whitelist immediately when your project is ready.

Definitely nothing you are doing wrong on your end. I think we need to establish some better procedures on our end.

for the people who didn't follow all the conversations on IRC since yesterday:

Like your post 😊 @erkan just give you up vote

Voted "yes - rermove from whitelist"

It's not fair to have projects without WU-s in whitelist!

Also, some projects in whitelist need invitation code:
Collatz Conjecture
SRBase
TN-Grid
Yafu
How's that fair??? I, as a newcomer, have no idea how to join those projects...

If you check the project forums, they often give away the invite codes, its just so they arent overwhelmed

This is correct - only Leiden Classical did not hand out an invitation code on their website and it has already been removed.

That's very cool friend
