Unexpected gift from the wonderful @AshleyKalila

My day starts with me checking GINA bot for any notifications of new posts from my favorite authors as well as any mentions of my name so that I can engage in someway because if they were kind enough to mention me then I should at least take a look.

The first message I saw was from @ashleykalila asking me to check my SP. Still half asleep my brain was slow to process this but then I saw her 2nd message and it was an article that she wrote.

I nearly dropped my phone because of the shock and unexpectedness of it all.

Although I've been telling EVERYONE with a significant of SP to delegate to newbie Steemians that are doing good shit on our blockchain, I hadn't delegated to anyone myself!
The urge was ALWAYS there but I wanted to find someone special. Someone unique. Someone I believe in.
And I found that person.
Let me introduce you to @maverickinvictus!!
This duderino is SO involved with the community on so many levels already, it just makes me smile!
He is deeply embedded in the Filipino community on here, and as far as I can see is being a mega pro-active busy bee with @steemitfamilyph and @giftinkindph.

My dog was bewildered as I was shedding tears of joy and smiling. This was truly a gift so that I can further help out more people as they embark towards their Steem journey.

I have never done what I am doing for recognition nor to get people to look up to me. I have not gotten an inflated ego or belittle people because of their SP or their wallet size. Just like in my line of work I follow a servant-leader mentality. I aim to serve and help people be better not lord over them as I have seen some people do in this platform. I am hoping that if ever I start acting that way someone would give me a tongue lashing and humble me.

I met @ashleykalila when I wanted to run a contest that humanized some of the names that we see it Steemit. I wanted to get to know the humans behind the handles and nothing spurs people to action than contests. I was interested to use the tag Humansofsteemit and that was how I managed to land on her project and I was blown away by what she was doing.

She is warm, bubbly and absolutely a positive influence in Steemit. I enjoy her quirky posts that never fails to uplift my spirits and have always been interested in the people that she features in her Humans of Steemit project.

The tagline "Authentic Human interaction" stuck in my mind as I saw past the earnings, past the prestige and mad scramble for upvotes. It is creating deep meaningful connections with your fellow humans in Steemit. You look past their reputation, their SP and upvote value, and the size of their wallet and instead celebrate their joys, talents and passions while understand their flaws, weaknesses and sadness. The beauty of the human spirit can be seen when you see it broken but mended again because of the support their fellow man.
