Street Art #214 Miss Van (2019 Mural Festival), Montreal (Canada)
For this series about 2019 Mural Festival, we're going to see the creative process behind each mural. We begin today with the French Artist Miss Van
So beautiful...
WHERE
On 3579 Boulevard Saint Laurent, Montreal.
Position on Google Maps
WHO
Vanessa Alice aka Miss Van started painting in the streets in Toulouse (south of France) in early 90's then in Barcelona under the nickname of Mademoisselle Kat. Her style is recognizable with her sensual women on the walls of many cities in the world (Los Angeles, Miami, Roma, Shanghai, Copenhagen, Paris, and now Montreal...) as well as on canvas.
On the first day, everything starts with a light green background...
Then the lines of the sketch of the two characters
And slowly the colors appear...
“I’m evolving and growing up with my paintings. It’s the only way, when you paint with emotions and feelings. I’m trying to be true with myself.” - Miss Van (Source)
In the middle of Festival, the mural looks already great, non ?
And the finished work... So cool to have a mural like that near to my home, always a pleasure to walk in front of it.
More about her work on Street Art #005 saw during a trip in Italy.
Do you like to see the creative process like this? I'll do it for some murals done this year. But as I had already shown almost live, this is perhaps redundant, what do you think ?

Great one! ... I just write down now what pops up. I think that is as well the effect or what art should be. To give impulses, and everybody is seeing it differently. So, story to this here. "After the great fight a little break and they said to each other: Finally! Cheers on that with our little dragon and they are off the list but now on our heads. Haha. Birds as well are dead now. Still I feel like shit. What´s wrong? - Don´t know. Said the other. But let´s kill something else and put it on our heads, we are humans. That´s what we do. - Yes, true. We have to do that. But it sucks, so I paint my face. We have to do that, because we are super sexy asian face fighters in kimonos with birds on our heads. We cannot change. Or can we... ? ..... finally the birds said: it´s just damn it doesn´t matter! as long as people see this nice mural on the wall and get impulses, start to think and develope, our choreography was worth it!
Nice to read your inspiration about this two Macbeth ladies... I have a more peaceful scene in my head :-)
The final product looks really good, but I think the way you show the progress is a great way to understand what is behind. Thanks for sharing. This is a reall good one:)
