Laura was the younger of three sisters. Since she was very young, she made her parent very proud. He loved her charisma and her brains, she was super energetic; jumping everywhere all the time, and the prettiest girl of Saint Horace. When she turned 16 years old, a rich man from the city asked for her hand.
He was an older man that got captivated by the personality and the curves of Laura. He told Laura's father that he was willing to help him and his family, they would never pass hungry again, he wouldn't work 70 hours a week anymore.
Laura didn't have a choice on the matter, she as her sisters, was expected to do as his father told her. She hadn't met the man but she knew that he had money, she would have a life that she wasn't even able to imagine.
Alex and his brother were going South, their father had just passed away. They were travelling by train to a little village close to the border, from there, they will walk through the forest to find their cousins that were waiting for them. Their plan was to get to the South State in no more than three days.
Laura's father worked on the train company, she was bringing him lunch that morning. As Laura enter the train station, the water under her shoes made her slip.
There was a big mess of vegetables and bread all around the entrance of the train station. Alex and his brother were about to get out when he saw her. Cleaning up the mess, the most beautiful girl that he ever saw in his life.
He got on his knees and started helping her as his brother went out of the station. 'Big mess you have here', he said. 'I'm bringing lunch to my father, I thought about adding a little bit of dust on it. For the taste, you know?' He grabbed the bread that was further to her, 'I would eat dust, mud or anything, if someone as beautiful as you bring it to me.'
She took the bread and looked into his deep blue eyes, 'Thank you, I need to go, my father is waiting.' She wasn't sure about her marriage anymore, and he wouldn't leave Saint Horace with his brother that night.
