What is Google Earth
Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D representation of Earth based on satellite imagery.

The program maps the Earth by superimposing satellite images, aerial photography, and GIS data onto a 3D globe, allowing users to see cities and landscapes from various angles.
Satellite images like Google Earth are cool, but of course it's limited to images that are days, weeks or even year old. There are times that you would like to see realtime overhead imagery (who's that at the door?), but sadly that privilege is restricted to the NSA, CIA, MI6 and the rest of the alphabet soup.
