Three sunsets over the Volga and a story about why we see the rays of the sun

Planning a trip, among other things, we always study the weather conditions. Forecasts, unfortunately, often deceive us, forcing us to urgently rebuild plans in pursuit of the sun. Here I am particularly understood by photographers.

In Kostroma (for those who do not know, this is a city on the Volga, 350 km from Moscow) with sunny days is bad. Beautiful sunsets can be admired mainly in the summer. In general, this year we have 204 overcast days, 145 cloudy, and only 16 - the sun! Therefore, every light show is worth its weight in gold.

Everyone who likes to take photos has their favorite places in their hometown. In Kostroma many have a Volga embankment with wooden piers. Of course, you saw the film "Cruel Romance" with Larisa Guzeva. Eldar Ryazanov preserved the look of our city in his film. But before there were three or four berths, and to this day only one has survived, now there is a thematic restaurant. The house in my frame is more like a parody on the pier, it's a floating hotel. But let's not talk about sad things.

Sunsets over the Volga are beautiful and romantic. They play different shades of red, orange, yellow. In reality, everything happens according to the laws of physics. It is these shades of color that we see, because they have the longest wavelength of light. The lower the sun, the greater the color of the sun. And we see the rays because there is a layer of dust particles in the air.
