Gohan Power #3 Learning by Growing / 育てながら食を考える
I decided to write “Gohan Power” (Gohan means food and meal in Japanese) posts on Wednesdays. Gohan Power is a food educational project I work on with my partner originally supported by Social Impact Lab Leipzig
This time, it’s about learning by growing.
In this convenient modern time, especially in developed countries it is easy to buy food anywhere.
However it’s good to experience once (or more) how hard it is to produce food while still it’s doable by ourselves even most of us are not a professional. We can proud on our harvest and feel happy to use or someone for example mama uses what we grow.
We may be more conscious to the environment by growing edible plants. What is this one mixed in soil? Why it’s needed? Is this necessary? A lot more than water is needed than I think! What is GMO? What is F1? etc.
Now it’s a perfect season to grow an edible plant. Why not start growing your own? For the first one, I recommend a mini tomato plant, which we have high chance of harvest and don’t need much space. Or herbs that can be used right away. Basil, thyme and parsley give fresh taste to dishes :)
I know some of you may still say “preparing soil, seeds or a plant, planter and everything is the first biggest hurdle.” I understand this. A bag of soil is heavy. Taking bike all the way to a DIY shop is … So I’m now designing a basil growing kit. As I recently received water proof paper for prototyping, it moves forward :)

2年前の今頃構想を練り始めた食育プロジェクトの Gohan Power で伝えたいことを書きたいと思いつつ、なんとなくのびのびに。毎週決まった曜日に書くのが一番かなと思い仕事の締切明けになることが多い水曜日にとりあえずスケジュールすることにしました :) 内容は何か一つトピックを選んで、あと Steemit でおもしろかった食育と関連しそうな投稿も紹介できたらいいなと思っています。
今回は育てながら食を考えることについて。
便利な現代、先進国ではちょっとお金を払えばどこでも簡単に食べものが手に入ります。ただ実際に食べ物を作るのは大変で、でも自分でも意外と育てることができて、育てたものを食べられるととてもうれしいです。誰かが料理に使ってくれてもうれしいです。
自分で育ててみると、普段なかなか身近に感じられない環境に関する話題にも興味が広がるかもしれません。土に混ぜてるそれは何？それ何で必要なの？この虫何？ずいぶん水いるんだね！F1種/固定種って何？遺伝子組み替えって何？などなど。
1週間ほど前に日本農業新聞に「種苗の自家増殖 「原則禁止」へ転換 海外流出食い止め 法改正視野、例外も 農水省」という記事が出ました。何が問題でしょう。こういったニュースも読んで意見を言えるようになると思います。
今、ちょうど食べられる植物を育てるのによい季節です。せっかくなので1鉢育て始めてみませんか。はじめの1鉢には収穫までたどりつきやすくて場所もあまりいらないミニトマト、すぐ料理に使えるバジル、タイム、紫蘇といったハーブ類がおすすめです :)
「でもやっぱめんどいな・・・」という人のために、バジルの栽培キットを作ろうとしています。プロトタイピングで使いたかった耐水の紙が日本から届いたのでまた一歩進むはず。

いいテーマですねぇ。ウチの場合、子供らが幼稚園に始まり、小・中学生の頃色々やって、それが今でも継続している感じですかねぇ。現在子供らは参加はしてませんが。皆んな育てる体験ができるのが一番良いと思いますので、一家に一鉢キャンペーンはとっても素敵と思います！
小学校と聞いて、そういえば朝顔、ひまわり、ヘチマを授業で育てたことを思い出しました。さつまいもの芋掘りもあったような。今の子たちってどうなのでしょう。ドイツではないようです。ドイツの難しいところは学校で食に関するあれこれがなくて（日本のも完璧とはいえないものの）完全に家庭依存なんですよね。むむむ。うまく一家に一鉢みたいな感じでなんとかできたらいいなと試行錯誤中でもあります :)
私は春先からはアスパラ、山わさび、バジル、夏に向けてトマトを栽培してます（´ω`）
@eggpon さん北海道でしたよね。北海道とアスパラなんかわかる気がしつつ、すごい。アスパラって収穫まで1-2年がかりでなかったでしたっけ。以前山盛り思う存分食べたいという理由で育て始めましたが、まだ植物がほわほわの1年目で挫折してしまいました。栽培や収穫の投稿読みたいです :)
ドイツでは緑のアスパラがほんと高いんですよ。そして春を逃すと売っていなくって。。。卵と一緒に、お肉で巻いたり、もりもり食べたいのですがなかなかそうもいきません。

私も常々 一次産業 の大切さが広められれば、と思ってます。

自宅ワークがちょっと忙しい時期でsteemitの記事の更新ができていませんが畑の様子アップできるように頑張ります＾＾
たくさん野菜の育てかたを調べて理解したつもりでも、実際に育てるとまた違った側面もあったりして日々自然や肉眼では見れないあれこれに生かされているなぁと畑を通して痛感している毎日です。
栽培キットのプロジェクト、一歩前進しましたね！！（祝）
