Get It Done Fun Days Are Back In Town!

Just Another Mundane Monday (oo ee oo)

After my fun trip to #SteemcampUK this weekend I am back to my "same old, same old" routine which, to be honest is pretty depressing so I want to nip it in the bud.

Yesterday, my friend and I had a conversation about what we could do that was new and interesting. We got desperate enough that she was even talking about taking up sheep farming and apparently, overnight, she started seriously considering becoming a politician! 😂

During the chat the thought came to me that one of things that I used to really enjoy doing was 'Get It Done Fun Days'. Basically, I spent a day or half day with clients, in person or virtually, getting them through something they had been procrastinating about.

We have an initial discussion about what they want to achieve, which may or may not be what they end up on working on 😂 and then we agree the next step and they spend 45 minutes working on it.

Then we "meet" again for up to 15 minutes to discuss how it went and what the next step is and then off they go again for another 45 minutes.

I love seeing the really fast progress that people make and the variety of projects that people work on.

I helped one client finish a book that she had had nearly done for 3 years, another one get her art finished for an upcoming exhibition and one sort out a way to do a project in Africa that was dear to her heart but that had grown so big in here head that she had paralysed herself

At one point I was planning on working with writers on a cross country train in the USA but, somehow, I let that fizzle out, despite having people interested in attending.

Fast forward to this morning where my friend was still umming and ahhing about what she could do and I stepped in and suggested that rather than planning the book she said she was interested in writing she just start writing it.

Which led me to remembering the 'Get It Done Fun Day' idea that popped into my head yesterday but which I never spoke out loud and I asked her if she fancied doing one right now, today.

And, that's what we did.

She was already writing by that point so we agreed to have our first "meeting" at 10.15 and we were off!

Fast forward 2 hours . . .

It's 12.15 and the spontaneous 'Get It Done Fun Day' is completed for now. It went very well and we'll be "meeting" again tomorrow to continue writing and exploring whether this idea of hers really has legs.

For my part it's put me back in touch with how much I enjoy doing this and now I just need to take the next step towards bringing it back into my life. Actually I've already done that. It was this blog post. 😂

So now I need to take the next, next step!

I love that idea and it seems to be a real motivator! Of course, you are the motivator with the ideas, to be honest.

Sounds like you had a great time at #SteemCampUK!

I haven't checked with you to see what you think of the entire platform powering down. It is a little intimidating, but, I think I will hold tight and support the platform.

I hope all is well in your world!!!

Morning @dswigle.

Yes. #SteemCampUK was great fun and interesting too. It was a well needed break for me as I've been struggling with mood recently. It's the worst it been for a very long time but I 'm hoping that the real low point has now passed.

I hadn't noticed that a lot of people are powering down. I know the price has been low and not going up like BTC but that's about it? Is there a lot of powering down going on then?

I meant to buy a bit yesterday but didn't get around to it and now the price has gone up >10% this morning which has put me off again.

I still think the low term potential of the blockchain is good but unless more money starts coming in that potential won't be met. Listening to @startkerz from @oracle-d at the weekend was quite an education.

The fact that someone such as yourself is even considering powering down and leaving the platform is a little worrying. However, I don't think the future of Steem lies in the blogging bit but in the businesses that brings investment in. At the moment there are only a couple of those. Most of them are taking from the pool rather than adding to it.

There was a outside investor at Steem Camp and it was very interesting to hear his perspective.

I hope someone who was there will write a post about it. I don't think I understand it clearly enough still to do so myself.

Hoping all is good with you and yours! 😍

I just love the name of the project you have. I believe fun is often disregarded and forgot as creativity booster. You need to tell me more someday :)
