US Airstrikes in Syria Allegedly Targeting ISIS Kill 54 Civilians on Friday

US Airstrikes Kill More Innocent Civilians as Prospect of 'Opposition Forces' Victory Against Assad & Syria Quickly Diminishes with Every Passing Day

Just after midnight on Friday (7/13/18), US coalition airstrikes targeted two towns in the countryside just east of the Euphrates river around Abu Kamal in Eastern Syria near the Syria/Iraq/Jordan border. An initial report by the Syrian news agency SANA reported at least 30 civilians, mostly women and children had been killed, and the Syrian Observatory for Human rights soon asserted that the strikes killed "at least 54 people". In an article published by Mint Press News and Anti Media, Whitney Webb reports that:

The bombings resulted in dozens of houses in the towns collapsing, resulting in numerous civilian deaths, as whole families were crushed by the rubble while they were sleeping.

The death count is likely to rise as dozens more were critically injured from the bombings.

Not initially claiming responsibility, a spokesman for the U.S. coalition only said the U.S. "may have" been responsible for the strikes in a comment to Reuters.

Colonel Sean Ryan, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition, said that it or “partner forces may have conducted strikes in the vicinity”. The coalition would assess the report alleging civilian casualties, he added, in an emailed response to a question from Reuters.

However, another army spokesman admitted it was in fact U.S. forces which carried out the strikes, in a comment to VOA on Friday.

“We did conduct strikes in the area east of Deir el-Zour,” Army Maj. Josh Jaques, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command, told VOA on Friday.

Western media was quick to assert that the airstrikes had targeted the terrorist group ISIS, and that Daesh militants had been killed in the strikes, but Syrian locals were quick to disagree.

For example, BBC reports:

Fifty-four people, including at least 28 civilians as well as Islamic State (IS) group militants, died in the strike on a village near the Iraqi border, a monitoring group says.

However, locals told SANA news that, “The coalition’s allegations of targeting Daesh (ISIS) terrorists by the raids are false,” confirming that the airstrikes aim at putting pressure on the people who have been rejecting the entry of the Washington-backed militia Qasad to their towns.

In fact, this area hosts the only Syria/Iraq border crossing under the control of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), and is a key crossing used by Syria to bring in supplies used to fight the various terrorist factions attempting to overthrow the Assad government. It is also very near to the U.S. occupied territory of Syria, and as the SAA recently continues to successfully liberate the areas in Southern Syria once occupied by the terrorist factions, it is in the interest of the U.S. occupation in Syria to gain control of this border area through it's terrorist proxy armies - in this case, Qasad.

And as Whitney Webb goes on to point out, former ISIS fighters have reportedly joined the ranks of Qasad:

Reports in Arabic media from earlier this year have claimed to provide evidence that many former Daesh members have joined the Qasad militia, both in the province of Deir Ez-Zor and al-Hasakah. Such reports are consistent with U.S. support for other militia groups, such as the Deir Ez-Zor Military Council (DMC), that also include significant numbers of former Daesh fighters who had surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the proxy force of the coalition, over the course of the past year.

Whitney Webb also notes that the only ISIS fighters in the region operate from U.S. occupied Syria:

Indeed, there is no Daesh presence in Abu Kamal aside from the pockets of Daesh that intermittently attack the Syrian government-held city from the area of Syria occupied by the U.S.

So while the western media reports that these recent airstrikes targeted and killed ISIS fighters, it is far more likely the strikes rather intentionally targeted civilian areas as punishment for their refusal to allow US-backed ISIS fighters into their territory. After all, the U.S. has a long track record of supporting and protecting ISIS and affiliated terrorist factions in Syria, in their bid to overthrow Assad and partition Syria.

As the SAA continues to successfully liberate Syria from the control of the various US/UK/Israeli-backed terrorist factions, the time is fast approaching when the Syrian army will shift its focus to liberating the oil-rich, agricultural watershed region of Syria now occupied by 2,000+ U.S. troops. President Assad has stated in no uncertain terms that the fight to liberate Syria from the hands of the terrorists will continue until Syria is fully liberated.

And Syria fully understands that the war she is currently fighting is against Zionism and Western imperialism, and that the terrorist factions are simply proxy armies of the Zionist military Empire. Once these terrorist factions are fully ousted from areas around Damascus and their current stronghold in the north, Idlib, Syria will turn her attention first to the US-occupied pocket of eastern Syria around An-Tanf and the US-occupied north, before likely moving against the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights.

Seemingly against all odds, Syria is finally winning this long and bloody 7-year proxy war against the Zionist occupation and attempted overthrow of her government by radical terrorists, and these types of bombings by the U.S. coalition are a sign of desperation and also likely to increase as the West continues to fight the losing battle to take control of Syria, and steal her natural resources.

Yet another false flag or staged chemical attack carried out by US-backed terrorists to be blamed on the Assad government is also a very real possibility, and has been predicted by Russian media. This type of provocation would be used in order to galvanize the public behind more U.S. coalition airstrikes against SAA forces and targets, as the SAA first moves to liberate the last terrorist stronghold of Idlib in the northwest, before focusing on a military advancement in the east near Al-Tanf and then the occupied north, which could potentially lead to a direct confrontation with American troops in US-occupied north and east Syria.

The obvious solution for America is to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria as Trump had announced he was going to do before the last staged chemical attack in Syria in April, cease all funding and support of terrorist factions in Syria including the White Helmets, and cease funding and support of all states in the region which also fund these terrorist factions, particularly Israel and Saudi Arabia. If we don't do so, U.S. troops will in all likelihood be forced to fight the Syrian army in the coming months, and if the last seven years is any indication at all, the people of Syria and the Syrian army will not be overcome, no matter the odds.
