Hello Everyone!!

I hope you all are good and doing well. Today I'm here to be a part of this amazing course "SEC-S20W4 | 2nd Half: Rice".Rice is a versatile and widely consumed staple food around the world. It is a grain that comes in various types and is a main ingredient in many global cuisines.

Rice is commonly used in our traditional cuisine. We have a variety of dishes in which rice is main or side part. Rice has very high amount of carbohydrates that makes it good energy source . Its naturally low fat grain has no cholesterol, its gluten free grain contains some minerals and vitamins.

I know about all long grain rice type ,infact I have used all long grain type. In our home Basmati Rice is used ,my family love it. My country's Basmati Rice are of best quality rice in the world. So thin long grain rice is used in our cuisine.

I don't know about medium grain rice at all. I get their knowledge from the course.

I didn't used short grain rice but i know about them and in my friends family they loved short grain rice so i had taste them too but I couldn't swallow them.

We would like you to prepare a main dish based on rice or with rice as a side dish (quantity for 1 person). It is important to explain the preparation process and the result.

For this course I'm going to make meat balls curry with side line rice. It's very delicious recipe that my family loved to have at dinner. Meats balls can be made from beef or chicken mince ,today I'm using here chicken mince.

Let's move to the recipe

Ingredients:

  • Rice
  • Chicken mince
  • Tomatoe
  • Onion
  • Garlic ginger paste
  • Red chilli powder
  • Corianderpowder
  • Turmericpowder
  • Cuminseeds
  • Coriander leaves

How to make:

  • First i measure 100g of Basmati rice and soak it in water for 30min. Basmati rice should be soak to get more long grain.

  • Finely chopped onion first and add it to the mince ,then add all spices that i have given above in half quality. Mixed all ingredients nicely and make meat ball . Keep them a side.

  • For curry, first add oil in pan and sotey garlic ginger paste for a minute. Add onion tomatoes paste and all remaining half spices in it and cook it .

  • When its colour change to dark red and oil comes up to the spices add meat ball in it and cook it for few minutes then add slightly water in it and cover the lid of pan and cook it for 5min.

  • Now boil soaked rice in excess water when it boils cook for few more minutes then remove its extra water frim it by stevie. Then cover lid of pan and cook for few minutes on very low flame. Boi rice are ready to serve.

Dish out it in a plate and garnish it to make it presentable.

Which starter and which dessert would go with the main dish you just prepared? Imagine a 3-course menu that goes with your main dish.

For this dish i like to add fresh salad of vegetables as starter and for desert i like to add cream cocktail. These two will compliment my main dish and make it more satisfying.

How has your experience been learning about pasta and rice? Tell us.

  • I really enjoyed the learning pasta ,I learnt homemade pasta from starch and made it first time at home. This pasta was so yummy and I'll make it in future too.

  • Learning about rice is also interesting but in our cuisine rice is commonly used as staple food in our main course. So I have enough knowledge about it.

Overall both course interesting and informative, @nahela chef did great job.

Cuando hago albóndigas siempre son de carnes rojas, pero me encantaría probar hacerlas de pollo como presentas en tu receta. Se ven muy bien condimentadas y en una deliciosa salsa. Sin duda su compañero ideal es el arroz blanco.

Por cierto es muy interesante la forma en que lo cocinas, lo he visto antes, pero no he intentado hacerlo así, retirando el exceso de agua, solemos colocarle agua medida, pero tu arroz se ve muy hermoso.

I like how your rice recipe is simple but turned out looking rich and delicious!
The meat ball sauce will definitely taste good with the white rice accompanying it with salad being starter and cream cocktail as dessert to complete a 3-course meal. What a great combination!😊
