We have successfully come to the end of gastronomy course and I'm really grateful that I followed this course to the end.

I have really learn a lot from this lessons, maintaing good hygiene in the kitchen, different types of knife and their uses, culinary terminology, herbs and their uses, cutting techniques, Mis en place and mother sauce, learning different countries recipe and finally I just learn cold cooking.

Today I've learnt that a pantrist is a person that handles all the cold dishes and decorate to any beautiful art he can think of. Therefore this part of cooking, requires much reactivity, your talent of creative art is shown here.

Making rabbit with cucumber

Foods such as fruits, vegetables and sauce is mostly used to make this designs. Other ingredients used for decorating are edible flowers, herbs or leaves used in cooking. But note; they should always be edible plants because since it will only be added fresh and served fresh. Therefore, those vegetables that are strong enough for for creativity should be used.


EDIBLE DECORATION



I make an edible decoration with vegetables to accompany african jollof rice. And I will show you the steps I took in my decorations, I used just 2 vegetables, I used carrot and cucumber to create this art.

I washed and set aside my 2 ingredients, cucumber and carrot.

I cut the cucumber and the carrot into a rondelle shape

I formes a circle using 8 pieces of rondelle cucumber, overlapping each other, forming a flower.

I added a piece of carrot in the middle and it now looks like a flower 🌺 so using the cucumber skin I added a branch to it.

I added leaf to the branch and it really forms a beautiful flower.

OBSERVATIONS/SUGGESTIONS



For next challenge application, i will like to suggest we learn different recipes of desserts and bread, some baking techniques, How to bake without oven etc. Then I will like to learn more on culinary art, food production, industrial cooking the pros and cons of it.

Well, there are lot of topics to learn about in cooking I will be glad to learn about them.

I really wish this opportunity will be open for gastronomy again, I so much enjoyed this season.

Your food presentation is really attractive ma'am. It drew my attention right away.
The rabbit art and the flower looks so beautiful and realistic. Personally I'll be really confused where to start picking the slice cucumber to eat and I'll take multiple pictures.
And on the picture where you're holding the plate, the flower pattern looks like an actual painting on your plate.
The artistry and the colour of the vegetable you used makes your meal really appetizing.
You've nailed the challenge already...
