Good morning ....fellow Steemians! Here's our weekly food forest video and photo tour!
Things are GREENING and FRUITING...UP!!! We focused a lot on our rain-gutters this week. Come check out how we modify our rain gutters to infiltrate water DEEPLY into our soil. Below...are the apple trees. A small waterfall comes down from the middle. This is zone we call ....zone 4. This is our son's unschooling...and world of mystery..and DISCOVERY!

Below you can see one of the projects we finished this week.
We focused a lot on earthworks and water works. Guiding what rain water we get here in the desert southwest....into micro-swales...that permeate and infiltrate the water deeply into the soil. Each day is filled with lots of work...but also TONS of laughter and PLAY!!!! PURE JOY TOWN....as we call it!
Inside the greenhouse this morning. Lavender, Tobacco, nasturtiam...and so many other plants...enjoying the morning sun! We use volcanic cinders...as mulch for the pathways. It feels wonderful to walk on...and still retains moisture.
Pictured below...is some of the fruit...developing on the trees right now. These are pluerry. A peculiar hybrid cross...between cherries, apricot...and plum! Mommy @thegiftofself...and our son...River....are working on planting melons, flowers...and many other herbs throughout the food forest and greenhouse this week. SOOO grateful for family!!!!!!!
Below...you can see some of the tomatoes coming off our vine in the greenhouse right now. These are a brandy wine hybrid. Sown last fall...and grew through the winter in the greenhouse.
Below is an example of the mulches we are spreading right now. Local volcanic cinders cover the pathways...and the FULL CIRCLE walkway...that goes around the house. The wood chips go around all fruit trees and growing areas.
