What a dreamy jar of lavender you have there @papa-pepper!

Indeed!

Thanks for sharing more about a wonderful plant!

I've started seeing lavender in a lot of food around where I live in Oregon -- lavender ice cream is really, really good. The plants are pretty carefree around here and I've stared seeing them thriving on their own in unused areas, too, where it is hot and dry in the summer. So much better than an unused patch of grass in a lawn!

Lavender would be a most welcome "weed"! We know a great recipe for lavender cake to go with your lavender ice cream.

This would be a very interesting dessert to eat. Sound great though!

It's very delicate, sweet, and fancy :)

A lavender cake sounds really, really good! I bet you make it look beautiful, too! :D

Tis our style!

Lavender is one of my favorite plants! It is gorgeous and soft and soothing. I feel peaceful just thinking about it!

It's one of my favorite plants too. I use the essential oil nearly every night and never get tired of it. And lavender tea is my fav. Thanks for sharing.

Help! Its taken over the side of my house. I can't wait for you next instalment about what to do with lavender after its flowering. ^_^

You can preserve it by harvesting and hanging upside down to dry. Then pull off the leaves and flowers to use for tea, in cooking, or in sachets.

Great post @gardenofeden!
I went on to check out some of the other herbs that you have posted about.
I thought they were really good too. I recently used calendula to make a topical liniment. It was 1 of 4 herbs I paired together, along with 3 other essentials oils. I'm happy to report that the finished salve worked like a charm. Lavender would have be really great paired with calendula too.

Thank you! Lavender and calendula would be so soothing for the skin! Sounds like a delightful combo.

Lavender essential oils smell great, I like to spray them on things. It has a very pleasant aroma. Thanks for posting!

Yes it's super calming and relaxing, but it is also antifungal, antiseptic, and even anti-tumor! So incredible for such beauty!

My gardens are full of lavender and rosemary plants, perfect for rubbing in your hands when you walk past.

Oh that sounds gorgeous!
