Dong Fu Gan near the Mati Temple Grottoes
It's been a busy summer. I wanted to share my journey to the Silk Road in China. Shall we begin?
Dong Fu Gan, the first stop before reaching the Buddhist Grottoes known as the Mati Temple Grottoes. 😁
These Buddhist Grottoes are a must see in China. They are located in Zhangye City, Gansu Province. Here you will also find the Thousand Buddha Cave and the Golden Pagoda.
What I remember the most about this tour was a guide who spoke of the 33 heavenly caves which if toured, must be completed. If not, let's just say, it could affect your destiny. Why?
The 21 of 33 caves and its 5 levels, represent the universe (the living and the reincarnating realms). If you start and decide to stop and turn around, who knows what might happen next in your life. At least, that's what I got from my translator. Let's just say, I didn't go. I chose not to test fate. It is interesting any way!
