5 of the BEST Upcoming Games in the Second Half of 2018! - Gaming Top 5 - Part 84.

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

With some of the most impressive games released so far this year, you have to ask, what's next?

title.jpg

With titles like Detroit Become Human being dubbed as the best looking exclusive game of all time and some of the best indie games we have ever seen, with some rivalling games from triple a developers... so far this year we have seen some incredible games. But now with the peak of the gaming industries release calender coming, what games will we see in the second half of 2018?

So here are 5 new games coming in the second half of 2018.

5 - The Walking Dead.

Xbox One, PS4, PC
November.

  • It seems that despite the TV series coming to a close earlier on this year, with some of the worst ratings the show ever received, the gaming community is super hyped about getting a proper Walking Dead 'Zombie' game that isn't a ridged and linear TellTale title.
With the Development team responsible for the PayDay franchise, Overkill have some big shoes to fill in order to deliver a game that can outperform every other Zombie game that has come before it.
The narratives with zombie based games seem to be ''Mix Rinse Repeat'', and to keep the base genre fresh will take some imaginative story telling. The TV series ultimately failed during its last season as it was getting very old and very stale. The same can be said about the TellTale games.
The game is based in the same post apocalyptic world as the comics and show, but is based in the heart of the US, Washington, and will be a first person shooter that will be based around all new characters as they try and survive. There is a multiplayer aspect to the game, but it is unconfirmed if it is an ''always online'' game, but there is definitely a solo campaign which I for one, would love to explore.
The visuals of the game look on point for what we would expect with a modern title, and with what was available at E3, it is shaping up to be a game that will have a similar impact as the Resident Evil game did back in the late 90's.

4 – Battlefield V

Xbox One, PS4, PC
October

  • When it comes to first person shooter/war based games, like medal of honour's, call of duties, among others, I fucking hate them, they are all essentially the same game with a different skin and they get boring very quickly. Only a select few do I think are worthy of my time and attention, and this game looks as though it could be one of those exclusive few that I would be happy to recommend.
While at its heart, this game is that typical boring WW X first person shooter, it has some of the most impressive animations that I have seen in a game such as this. The characters have a much wider range of movements to explore, like going prone, jumping over ledges, stabbing someone in the back, dragging someone to the ground.... it sounds like very basic stuff, but when you actually see that in action in the trailers, it comes through very thick, and looks impressive to say the least.
There is a solo campaign to explore also, which is something sorely missed from games like this, but I hope that the devs don't include the rumoured ''Battle Royal'' mode in the game. If they do..... DON'T BUY IT! Because it will be full of micro transactions and will be a blatant money grab by the publishers.

3 – Just Cause 4.

Xbox One, PS4, PC
December

  • After the awesomeness that was Just Cause 3, gamers and fans everywhere have been wondering when we will see a sequel to that game, and we finally have it... well, its a few months away, but it almost here.
The visuals in this game are stunning, and because of how the narrative is written, the mechanics that you will see in the game are some of the best you will ever see. This time round, the antagonist in this game are messing with the weather, so you can expect to see some of the most dynamic and wide ranging weather ever seen in a game, ranging from a light drizzle, to a full on tornado. How this will impact the gameplay is unclear, but if it is anything like what I am thinking, then it is going to be a blast to play.
With what you can see in the trailers, it just looks like more of what made the 3rd game as good as it was but with just.... MORE everything. The sling hook and parachuting is back, but this time round there is a whole whack of stuff for you to shoot at, blow up... it is basically a typical 80's action film in modern game form and it looks fucking outstanding.
The game is due to come out during the holidays at the end of the year. With it being in the final stages of development, which is bug fixing, if it doesn't get delayed, it will be the number one game on any gamers wish list for a holidays present.

2 – Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Xbox One, PS4, PC
September.

  • The more recent Tomb Raider games, have completely redeemed the franchise and brought it into the modern era. (just a shame the 2018 movie was a pile of elephant shit). But regardless, this game will be the 3rd instalment in the refreshed franchise that will, as the devs say, see Lara become the Tomb Raider that we all love.
Just as the previous game, Trinity will be the antagonistic organisation that Lara will have to deal with on her journeys. Unlike the previous game, Lara is more bad ass than ever, as she will be able to cover herself in mud to camouflage herself, hide in ivy, has a wider skill set for killing enemies she will encounter... just Lara, but better at killing than before.
With the playable demo available at E3, a lot of industry big wigs, journalist, bloggers and gamers all got to try the game with some hands on gameplay, and almost 100% of everyone who did play the demo are looking forward to playing out the full game. The game mechanics are brilliant, visuals are brilliant, and the full facial/body capture acting that you see is some of the best you will ever see. They should have used the woman who did the motion capture acting in this title, in the film, maybe then it would have been a good film.
With how the story played out in the last game, this time round she seems to have a score to settle and is on a warpath. Either way, it will be a story driven game to engross yourself in for 20 or so hours.

1 – Hitman 2.

Xbox One, PS4, PC
November.

  • After the huge success of the soft rebooted game in 2016, it was only a matter of time before we saw another entry into this world of assassination.
With Warner Brothers now owning the publishing rights to the franchise, we are not getting another episodic game like the last one, but instead, we are getting the whole game from the get go. Originally I was very sceptical about the episodic 2016 game, but it grew on me as I got to explore each level in depth to the point when I play the game now, and want to try a different way to kill the targets or 'Elusive' targets, it is easy to navigate round the maps. But WB ultimately feels that it will 'earn more money' if the game is released complete. Not that I mind, but for some reason, the episode way radiated with fans as the developers were always giving us new things and new reasons to keep playing. This game will have the same amount of support, but I can see that after its initial release, server activity will steadily decrease as players loose interest.
Visually, there are only minor improvements of the 2016 game, but as a whole, there are some big changes, mainly in the way you can kill your targets, with more tools, weapons, accidents, disguises, and more ingenious ways of killing said targets too. It incorporates everything that made the 2016 game as good as it was, and doubled up on the playability and options in the game.
In the solo campaign in the 2016 game, there was a very strong narrative that was mainly told through the cutscenes of the game, so it will be fun to see if and how they will continue it and how it will play out.
As a long standing fan of the franchise, this title is set to be one of the best we will see so far in the franchise, as the developers are becoming more imaginative in there level designs and killing mechanics.
The only hope I have for the game is that the devs do enough to keep the game fresh and to keep the servers active. Everything else about the game will be undoubtedly awesome!

there are of course, a whole boatload of games coming out later this year, with many being triple A titles and even more indie games, and I will, as usual, pick out 5 of the best each month, every month. So even if a game you know is being released didn't make this particular list, it will more than likely make a list in the month it is due to be released.

Each of the games in this list have some impressive aspects that I look forward to seeing when the games finally drop. The one in particular I would like to see more than the others, apart from the new Hitman game, is Battlefield V, as I want to explore how the subtle mechanics and animations will impact the game as a whole, and to see if it will change my mind over the stigma I have with war based first person shooters. Will it be just as boring as all the others before it? I know it will be visually stunning, but today, that is not enough to get a game by as gamers want more than just good looks, they want a game they can sink there teeth into and immerse themselves into, and that can only be achieved by combining visuals, narrative, mechanics and animations together.

What game are you most looking forward too?

Thanks for reading.

can i play this game in my dual core 2.5 gz pc?

very doubtful. because all these games are very high end, you will need a minimum of a 4 core cpu paired with either a GTX 750ti or R7280 as an absolute minimum. if i knew the full specs of your PC, i may be able to advise you better on which of these games in this list you may be able to play.
