Small changes for the SteemGC CS:GO 1v1 Tournament!

Hello gamers!

Today I am here to announce a few changes to the tournament. We do realize this is a bit short notice but it's the only way we can do this unfortunately due to some complicated circumstances.

We were officially going to host the tournament on Faceit and their servers but we recently learned that there is no way to spectate the ongoing games without being a Faceit admin/employee atleast for the 1v1 game modes. This would not let us spectate or stream the ongoing games and this is an important part for us.

Because of this we have now decided to host our own game server instead. To be honest this only makes it all easier for the participants as it removes the extra step of using Faceit.

The Changes

The setup we have now is that we run our own game server which the players will connect to when told it's their time to play. This is done by copy-pasting a simple command into the console. For anti-cheat we are using EasyAntiCheat which is a free software you can download from the Steam Store. Before connecting to the game you need to launch this software. Once you have it launched and it shows "ready" you can then launch the game and connect to the game server with the given command. The EAC software can be found by following this link Here! or by searching for it on the Steam Store("Easy Esports" on Steam). Without using EAC you will be kicked from the server shortly after connecting.

This is the only "extra step" that these changes will bring. To connect to the games you only need to be able to open your console and paste a command. The command will be provided in the #tournament-signups once we get closer to the start of the games. If you have any trouble with any of this you can say so in the new #tournament-talk channel where moderators will be happy to assist you.

Once the tournament starts you will be told who is in turn to play and you will connect to a voice channel where you will be given further instructions. We expect all of this to make the whole experience better and even though it can sound tricky at the moment it really isn't very complicated to do. All you need to do before the actual tournament is download the EasyAntiCheat software and enable the console within the game if you haven't yet. Everything else that was provided in the previous announcement post still stays the same.

We do apologize for any inconvinience this may cause to the participants but this will now allow us to hold tournaments more often for the future in different modes and sizes which we are very excited about. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask in the #tournament-talk channel.

Thanks for your understanding and good luck in the tournament everyone!
